Ironic that some people want to be in section 32 but seem unable to get there due to the presence of the ticket checkers, while others who unknowingly buy tickets there are sometimes upset to find themselves in a more raucous section than they prefer. (I’ve noted before that I think that most fans enjoy the atmosphere provided by our section, but they usually would rather enjoy us from a reasonably safe distance.)
As far as fans from other seating areas coming down into our section, only fans in the north end (and the new KFC section this year) are really moving up in the price range and just by a few dollars. I think the FO is more concerned with fans from the north end moving into seats in the chair sections at midfield which is a big price boost. Then again, this will hopefully be less of an issue should we move into a smaller stadium. Hopefully the stands will be mostly full so there are so many inviting empty seats for fans to try to jump into. We once had a sign at the back of our section (where fans enter from the concourse level) explaining the nature of section 32 and I believe it said something that implied fans who didn’t want to stand the whole game could go to an usher to arrange for a different seat. Is this sign still around? I think the ticket office migth do a better job of selling tickets in section 32 unless someone specifically asks for them. It doesn't happen that often, but we do sometimes find someone not in the supporters trying to find a seat down load in section 32. I think it’s unfortunate when a casual fan is down there on about row 4 and is dismayed to find him self directly behind all of the drummers and everyone around them is standing when they just want to sit down and relax and take in the game. It’s just the sort of thing that will make a curious first time soccer fan choose to never attend a second match. We should of course be alert when this sort of thing happens, apoligize and sympathize with them and politely tell these fans that while they are more than welcome to their assigned seat, the team will promptly re-seat them if they see an usher. Hey if a few of us indicate we can appreciate their situation, they might just attend that second game next time. I also wonder if maybe at some of our tailgate parties if we couldn’t post a sign that said something along the lines of: STAND WITH THE LOYALISTS AND CHEER ON YOUR TEAM! BUY TICKETS IN SECTION 32 AND ENJOY OUR ROWDY ATMOSPHERE! Even people walking by that uncertain of how to be in our section might see the sign and come join us in the future.

Deuce, it was not about a single "idea" but an attitude. Just reporting what I've seen--take it or leave it.

OK but since you have watched all but one match from home how have you seen or experienced an "attitude" in the Loyalists section? Just curious... take it or leave it!

I don't think it would be in anybody's best interests for me to go into detail publicly.
If you're actually interested in ways to improve the situation, email me because I imagine I have a pretty good idea of how things stand after being one of the founding members of the Loyalists, being the Loyalists "press secretary" and being on the board of directors. If you're interested in being defensive and looking outward for blame, that's cool. That's not my problem anymore.

I was merely responding to your direct quote of one of my posts. So in future if you are not interested in publicly discussing things don't make direct reference to my posts... Although with our history going way back to the begining of the Loyalists, I think it is in the best interest of everyone involved if you and I don't discuss anything further publicly or privately... However I am sincerely concerned about the motivation and timeliness of your "issues" and the attitude shown toward the Loyalists since you stepped down from a leadership role... Please put me on your ignore list. Thanks in advance! Last edited by Deuce : 08-22-2006 at 06:14 PM.

Strange how nobody else is posting here anymore. But I bet there are a few still reading it... Funny stuff.
I don't have anybody on my ignore list. It disrupts the flow of a conversation when half the conversation is missing. Last edited by montgjules : 08-23-2006 at 11:18 AM.

Well, I was saying it in fun. But I love Class VI. I can actually watch the game and take it all in. When one is jumping around like a teenage girl at a Justin Timberlake concert, I've found that I just don't pay as much attentoin to the game. I don't notice a lot fo the more subtle things like how players away from play are positioning themselves. I just don't pick up on those things the same with all the drumming and singing and jumping going on. And it's not like the players don't notice when 8 of us are standing up to let Mullan know he's a hack. I like it and I wouldn't be suprised to see a few more groups like this popping up through out the league. __________________
