I though Greece was suspended from international play for a while. How could England be playing Greece if FIFA suspended Greece from playing? BTW the friendly was sheduled for Aug 16 not Aug 12.

Besides, even if Engerland don't meet Greece, I'm sure they will line up an alternate opponent for that date. __________________

Now, if by some miraculous turn-around we're still able to make the play-offs, all bets are off. But of course, we'll all have a change of heart at that point. __________________

Originally Capello wanted to nix the RSL/RM match:
Here Capello says he is studying the present contracted pre-season matches to see if they make sense. Capello says: "Yesterday we talked about the preseason and we will begin on July 12th in Madrid, after we'll go to Austria and we are studying the preseason games, which is fundamental, because we must do good physical work. We are deciding and weighing if we will go to the United States." This article says that RM has already canceled a contracted pre-season match scheduled in Chile. Now there is talk about the RSL v RM game may be moved up to August 8th, followed by a second friendly game in Washington. Don't know how this would work on the RSL end of things since RSL face cRapids Aug. 9. By the way, Emilio Butragueño is no longer with Real Madrid as of last Wednesday... RM is getting more than 10 million Euros ($12.7M) for the RSL match. How does this work if RSL is going to gross less than $5M from the match? The article states that the benjamins are RM's only incentive to make this trip. __________________ "I think people fancy me. They can't figure me out. I'm an attractive guy. Actually the article says that 10 million is based on the RSL game and a yet to be decided match in DC. And it doesn't specify what RSL is paying, just what Real Madrid stand to make. DC's a bigger market so it stands to reason more of that 10 million would come from there than SLC. And that at that some of SLC side of things may include RM making world-wide TV income, replica sales, etc. I still wouldn't be suprised if RSL is only coughing up $2 or $3 million __________________
