Thanks for welcoming to the board, Jose.
I was wondering if the new (rumored) players would be there. I'd love to see Kaka, though as an England national team fan (wish I could see Terry in the Chelsea-MLS game), I'm not really in the mood for C. Ronaldo. I've heard three to four weeks on Renaldo's knee, so it's possible he'd be fit to play. I think that he and Becks are both tossups. My bigger point, however, was that it might piss off people who don't follow soccer all that much. To them, Kaka and C. Ronaldo might not be as exciting as the older, better publicized soccer heroes, even if they're not in their prime. I'll be excited either way, but I'm just saying that it might be bad for Real relations.

That's exactly why I am in the mood for CR. I'd like to let him know that RSL fans think he's as big a wanker as everyone else in the world does. __________________

I guess there would be a parallel to the Rocky Mountain Review?
Do we want to see a big famous name like Rafa Araujo or do we want to see someone who isn't as famous but who can actually play basketball?

It is Real Madrid. Even without Becks, Ronaldo, the potential new guys and the retired Zidane, we're going to see some fine football. From a PR standpoint, though, it could hurt the team. If Becks will at least be present, though, I don't think there'll be too much outrage.
And yes, it would be fun to let CR know that he's a wanker.

I might be slow, but I just realized this is being called The Xango Cup.
Not too long before the stadium is named Xango something.... if it gets built.

It looks like Real bought Cannavaro and Emmerson from Juventus as part of the post-game-fix-scandal fire sale.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=374133&cc=5901 It says that they're both on vacation now, so I don't know if they'll be playing in the RSL game.

Cool. As a defender myself, Cannavaro is my new hero. He should have beat Zidane in the voting. Hope he comes to SLC next month. He can sign the new Cannavaro jersey I just ordered from BigSoccer.

I like Cannavaro too, and hope he's here on the 12th! __________________

RSL/RM match gets eclipsed.
Real Madrid will play D.C. United to kick off their US tour Real Madrid will play Real Salt Lake on 12 August, but three days before landing in Salt Lake City, the Whites will be in Seattle, Washington to play D.C. United, the best Club in Major League Soccer. __________________

Of course, Dave Checketts' Sports Capital Partners is promoting the Seattle match, so Uncle Dave gets a win-win.
But lets be reasonable, DC vs. RM will be a better match. Seriously.
