Like The Wolf said to Vincent, Jules and Jimmy in "Pulp Fiction", "Let's not start......" Well, maybe I'd better use that line on a different board.

I don't know but that ref last night was crap. He was blowing that whistle left and right. Anytime a ref calls more than 30 fouls in a game I start to wonder what's going on. And for the most part it wasn't that rough of a game. I didn't see any reason to have to clamp down on fouls or things like that. And in the end he called 40 fouls on both teams. That's not to say some fouls weren't good calls. Ya gotta call Veris for the foul in the corner when Attiba get the ball from him and Veris shoves him in the back so he can't take advantage of his misplay. And some YC's like Forko's were deserved. But he didn't need to dole out some others. And I know it's been said but I want to say it again ---> Ellinger, we're up 2-0 and Kries has been absent from the match. PUT IN WATSON!!!! __________________

I felt like Kreis was making a great effort to come back and play defense a lot.

It was the moustaches!! Well, I think we can see why RSL was stinking it up so bad: It was the moustaches!! Shave the ‘staches and we win!!
RSL won and played well because of one primary difference: We moved well off the ball for once. Harris’ goal was a thing of beauty. Left foot, outside of foot. He looked like a seasoned veteran on that goal. Ballouchy proved once again that, while he’s a fine playmaker, he is NOT a finisher. He had several breakaways but couldn’t put it in the net. If I had to chose, I’d prefer a little less flashiness and a little more finishing. I was very surprised by how differently RSL is playing Kreis. He was much more withdrawn and came back several times to the touchline to defend. You didn’t see much of him throughout the game. I would like to see Klein play in the middle. He tends to gravitate there anyways. During the second half, it was amazing to see RSL stroking the ball around. That is the first time I’ve seen that from RSL. I can’t think of anyone who had a poor second half. Defense stood tall; although I sure was nervous that the whole back line was playing with yellows. Biggest surprise of the game: No Williams. Biggest break-out player: Carey Talley. My MOTM: Atiba Harris. He showed much more energy out there than any of the other players. He really showed that he wanted to be out there. Heck, he was rushing the keeper from the half field line. He had the most ideas and the most energy. Post game, Ellinger said he took Harris off because he was tiring. I didn’t see that. He was just as active in the second as the first half. Question: If we lose our next two home games, should we chalk this win up to a lame LA team? We have to take advantage of KC while its 3 WC players are out… __________________

Great win.
Tiba looked strong for the first time without making costly mental errors. Klein found people's feet. Even Torres looked competent for 90 minutes. However, you heard it here first: I'm very nervous about the tactical approach to sending our wing backs on overlapping runs every time we move the ball up the park. That will get our backline in ho****er against a good team that can win the ball and counter quickly (i.e. DC, NE, Houston, etc). Let's hope Ellinger can reign in the young bucks he put out there.

Okay, analysis:
GoalKeeping:Garlick played well. Impressed me. Back Line: Very good for a bunch of no names. I'd keep it the same way next game. Midfield: Talley should play mid more often! He had an amazing game. Ballouchy needs to work on his finishing. Klein needs to work on his left foot. Cutler needs to be able to pass the ball better. Front Line: Tiba played well. Kreis was completly absent, played a sucky game. And Cunningham proved himself. He was in for 18 minutes and scored two goals. Sound familiar? All-Star Game 2005 replay! I say we sub him in more often. Ellinger realized that we don't need Williams, Pope, or Sequeira. That shows some depth, sopmething we didn't have last year. La obviously has zero depth. Without Donovan, they are nothing. Overall, a great game. A good booster that proves we can win. On the road, even! :signrocko

Also, was that Watson sporting a mohawk? I would've loved to have seen him on the pitch with that. Anyone have any photos? Last edited by ReAl : 05-14-2006 at 08:23 PM.
