The best image of the match for me is this one:
http://www.internationalsportsimages.com/viewphoto.php?lightbox=add&lightboxName=18163&imageId=18163&albumId=296 (can't post it so there's the link) that's Kreis, Klein and I'm thinking Talley after the match. great shot. __________________

I have to admit that I had lost sight of just how difficult the winless streak was on these players. That picture shows just how much it means to get the first victory of the year. __________________

So umm....
Now that we've realized we don't need Pope and Seqeuira, what will our lineup be when they return? -----------Garlick -Akwari-Torres-Pope-Forko -------Sequeira/Talley? -Klein---------------Talley/Sequeira? ---------Ballouchy ----'Tiba--------Cunningham Kreis didn't show up to the Galaxy game. Tiba and Cunningham would be effective together up top. Also, could Talley play L-Mid? Could Sequeira play L-Mid? For subs, I'd put in Kreis (or Watson) for Tiba (unless he were playing awesome!) in about the 70th minute. Now how's that sound to you? 🙂

First of all, few Liverpool fans are at home right now, they are mostly busy sniffing glue and stealing car stereos. However, I was at the FA Cup last weekend, and I heard a lot of exactly what you describe above, almost verbatim. You stated it alot more cogently than a typical Scouser could I must say, but otherwise there is plenty of that kiind of sentiment going around. To be fair, you should of heard my fellow Hammers fans piss and moan among themselves about how hard it would be for us to not be relegated this season, or about how we weren't good enough to warrant that brief glimpse of Europe, how it was a fluke we were briefly ahead of the Arsenal, etc. My opinion is this is sort of pessimism is the lot of the true, lifelong football fan. The joy of a win like the one we just had is overshadowed by the pain we know is just around the corner.

Ok, first I'm jealous you were there, but no on to your post. I don't hear those things presented in the same way, i belong to Liverpool fan clubs on both sides of the Atlanic and just don't hear that type of whining for no reason. Now with Houllier I did hear some but there was always a constructive element to it, rarely did a true fan ever just ***** and moan for the sake of it. I agree that hard luck stories are the lot of the true fan, I went through my feelings on that in a column recently, that's what makes a fan a real fan that despite all the bad the few moments of good make up for all of it and celebration takes over. What I am tired of is that some people couldn't even celebrate for a moment, not even for a minute, they were straight on here being destructive in ever word, they couldn't just take the win and enjoy it and more importantly allow others that moment to rejuvinate and recharge from a tough year of supporting a losing team. that's my frustration.

The more I think about it, the more I think that some people are just born pessimists (although they call themselves "realists") and/or have had so much experience with the hard side of life to have trouble believing that good things really do/can happen.
Others are born optimists (although pessimists call them "high"), and pessimists will reason that to be due to the fact that they haven't actually experience "reality" in all its glory yet. In essence, pessimists (sorry, "realists") are optimists who have actually lived a real life. And you know what they say: "birds of a feather flock together". This would perhaps explain why pessimists (sorry, "realists") would find that public opinion matched their views. I fall in the latter, and it sounds like there are still a few of us hanging on to this quickly disappearing religion. LONG LIVE THE OPTIMISTS!!!! __________________
