Just in a side note, how negative were the first 6 pages tonight? Holy crap, it was depressing to read everyone expecting a loss and doubting everyone in the line up. This is not the same team as last year and I don't really think of it as 'their' winless streak, it more felt like a winless streak for the fans, but this team, it was 5 games, not good, but still not as bad. Maybe that's just me being the optomist, maybe but I don't care because we won and now maybe we can all get back to being at least somewhat positive.

I agree. It would be nice to see some positive remarks. Although I, too was hard pressed to be blindly positive. With each loss it became harder to do. Now we've broken the curse. We played well. We are a team.

I can't wait for the home games, comming up. I don't know if I'll be able to be there. But I'll be rooting for them, anyway.

Quick comments:

The team vets meet with E and the next thing you know, no Williams (interesting)...

PRK, I know you don't like Atiba's style, but it is hard to argue about its effectiveness...he have us a true outlet who can win either a high ball or a ball to feet...we have suffered without a true ball winning forward since the beginning, so he is a welcome change. And, the turn for the first goal to a left-footed finish was sick.

Cunningham at the end of games against a tired defense = goals...

Kreis still cannot win a 1v1 battle offensively, but you cannot dispute the leadership he showed the last 25 minutes of the game...he played a ton of D and worked his tail off (does this excuse the fact that he is being blamed for freezing Cabrera out of the team?)

Talley is MUCH better as a center mid than in the D...

Kenny got a bit more credit than he deserved...he was at best adequate...BUT, if Talley can give us some offense, all we need Kenny to do is break up the opposition...

Too many crosses given up by Forko...he's not bad, but must improve because Nelly just isn't that strong in the air and Garlick is worthless on crosses...

Torres in the middle = nice...(errr, if Torres, a native spanish speaker, is in the middle, why can't Cabrera play in there with him?)

Garlick is getting too much credit for making simple saves (shots right at him...even the alleged great save in the 2nd half simply looked difficult...it was 2 steps to his right, he just went to his right and slapped it) the first 10-15 minutes his inability to play crosses nearly put RSL down 3-0.)

Coach E = well, the team played pretty well together. Why did it take the vets coming to you for you to figure out that maybe Williams is more of a problem than a solution?

Question of the week: Do we see the same line-up 2 games in a row for the first time ever?

I agree. That is the question.

If we can see the same formation, with the same players for a few games in a row, we may start to see some consistancy. They have to get used to where everyone else is; to know where they are going to be, in a certain situation.

We got something that works. Let's work it.

That is what i want to know. I am tired of interesting experiments. Let's use what works. We won last night so let's keep the same people.

Come see us when we beat a team, unlike last night's FC Denny's Omlettes:

-That is not coached by a guy that embarrassed US soccer in front of a billion people

-That has at least as many legitimate MLS players as the 2002 Seattle Sounders.

-Whose target striker did not arrive at 2 in the morning.

-Whose playmaker did not arrive at 2 in the morning and knows most of his teammates names.

Sing it Scholes!!! I've felt all along that we've got a good group of players, and that Coach E has what it takes to make a winning team. Even though "one win does not a successful season make", I'm still confident in the teams ability to make a good go of it this season under E's leadership. Hopefully, this is the start of that trend.

Oh what do you know Jose? You're not the sideline reporter, you're just a fan. [/sarcasm]

I agree with Jose, I'm cautiously optimistic after our first win, but I was okay in being frustrated with a 0-5-1 team that lacked any urgency on the pitch. (what games are you watching scholes?)

I agree with your points aside from those made about Cutler, Forko and Coach E.

I saw Cutler busting his butt out there.

I saw a rookie Forko playing against one of the best wing-men in MLS in Cobi Jones. Letting him get off a few crosses is forgivable, in my opinion. He also shut him down several times, and I would say that Cobi far from man-handled him which is maybe what you'd expect from a match up like that.

And everyone already knows how I feel about Coach E. ๐Ÿ˜

"The worst of all"

I don't have a lot of time to translate this & I'm too lazy to run it through Babelfish.

But this article in Spanish calls the Galaxy "A project that is not working and is driving fans away from the stadium"

Here's another problem I see.

Maybe someone already covered this?

Half the team picked up yellows last night.

How close are we to suspensions?
