There is a long standing tradition in that stadium ot try the "Great, new product" and somehow we found our way onto that crap that people put in Easter baskets, carpet, followed by that black mess and now we just have the turf monster that is Rice Eccles.

Right. Got it...

Just like RSL choosing to play a game at BYU is a personal attack on you. As you are one of the electronic personas that I agree with most of the time I will stop now lest we become e-enemies.

That's more like it Animal. I was beginning to think you'd gone soft on the UC issue.

This is the thing that blows me away: Everyone's worst fears are realized when DC lets drop the fact that LES is the most likely candidate for future big-time matches. Of course this is everyone's worst fear because we all know that all alcoholic and caffeinated beverages must be checked at the point of the mountain prior to entering the UC. Yet somehow, lost in the fray... lost in the fallout from this disillusionment... is the fact that DC is actively courting big-time events. And also, amazingly, RES escapes all blame for having installed a POS surface to begin with, and cunningly shifts blame and agression towards LES. Sheer genius! Utes win in Provo again!

Now, in defence of the noble dissenters, I know that Clarette and others have complained about the lack of mass transit options from SL County to LES - the gridlock that will be game day traffic. This is an extremely valid point. No two ways about it, game day traffic will suck if you don't live within walking distance to LES.

But the crap about lack of alcohol, caffeine, or Provo/BYU/Happy Valley sucks this-or-that... sorry, but that just seems petty to me.

Okay, y'all. Breathe a bit, will ya? First thing you gotta realize is: The only true religion practiced within five miles of LES is pointyball. There's a reason why their 60,000-seat stadium's always full (it's only partly because of the multi-level millionaires). Others will protest this, but it's true. I spent five years at the Zoo, and had many many many conversations with true believers in the gospel of pointyball. It's all a lot of them understand, to the point of trying to explain their *actual* religion with pointyball metaphors. (It's much easier using metaphors from the beautiful game. Trust me.)

Second thing: No caffeine? No beer? The hell you say! Why, I had a beer at every game last season at RES...what? I didn't? I CAN'T BUY BEER AT RES?? Wow. I had no idea. It's going to be heck eating a burrito from Los Hermanos instead of my traditional generic brat from RES, but I'll get over it. Okay, the caffeine thing is tres bizarre, but you can always do the UC version of what the drinkers at RES do--stop at the Hart's in American Fork on your way down, buy the 128-ounce caffeinated beverage of your choice, and chug it before you enter the stadium. Bonus points for tossing the empty bucket in the trash at the gate while saying, "I'm Rick James, b****!" Then you, too, can be stuck in the cleanest stadium restroom you've ever seen when RSL scores its only goal in a 10-1 rout, wishing to LaVell that you had three more kidneys, or a catheter.

And BTW, I only feel I can say any of this because I'm from Ogden originally--we ain't got no stadium what could hold 10,000 folks, much less 60,000. And our university's pointyball stadium's got a purple track running around it. So...but we does have a pretty cool ski resort or two. Maybe Unca Dave should build the new stadium in West Weber. There's plenty of land out there....

It's not just the POS field. The U has treated RSL like s**t since day one which is fine , I guess, if it helped prod team officials into figuring out how to get a SSS.

Just because I don't like RSL's decision doesn't mean there was some sort of conspiracy to personally attack me, but whatev...
