Wow... this has turned ugly!
I though my post was relatively tame, but it was deleted so I will try and state it differently. It all boils down to this... we will all complain about things we don't like. But when everything is said and done the true soccer fans will be at the game where ever it may be and regardless of what kind of beverage is or is not served. Now everyone kiss and make up (ok fine you don't have to kiss). __________________

BREAKING: IT'S OFFICIAL...
KUTV-TV: A Real Game:Real Madrid vs Real Salt Lake Real Madrid is coming to Utah. 2 News has learned Real Salt Lake is very close to completing a deal to bring the popular Spanish club to BYU's Lavell Edwards Stadium for an exhibition match this summer. Multiple sources inside RSL have confirmed a deal is close. Dan Sheldon will more on the story tonight (4-11-06) on 2 News. Real Madrid played the LA Galaxy in Los Angeles last summer and this year's game would represent a continuing trend as the world's most popular clubs try to grow a global brand. Manchester United toured the USA two years ago. China and the USA are viewed as the last frontiers for the world's most popular sport. International TV rights are becoming more lucrative and clubs are raising revenue selling merchandise around the world. The Deseret News has suggest August 12th as a possible date for the match. RSL plays its homes games at the University of Utah's 45,000 seat Rice-Eccles Stadium, but the stadium has artificial turf. BYU has a natural grass field. RSL owner Dave Checketts met with the media at the teams' kick-off luncheon and while discussing the possibility of major international matches, Checketts said capacity at LaVell Edwards Stadium is 68,000 (although the BYU football team's biggest crowds have been in the range of 65,500 to 66,000). RSL builds four unannounced exhibition games into season ticket packages. Last year the bonus games included matches with Chivas USA and Harbour View, a Jamaican club, plus the USA-Costa Rican World Cup qualifier. RSL management has also been interested in bringing the Mexican National Team to Utah at some point in the future.

Oh no - I live in Utah County so there's no chance I would have the intellect to understand what you are saying. I'd probably spend the whole time picking my nose or marking my scriptures, but you know how we are so I don't need to explain that to you.

I will be going to Happy Valley with a lurking suspicion that we are headed into a trap. After all, The UC is the Devil's playground. I wish RES had real turf. Oh well, looks like I am gonna be dragging my fat ass to Provostan to watch David Beckham kick my team's ass. I wonder if Posh will be there??

Oh, I see. If someone doesn't want to visit BYU because of their policies, then it's a personal attack on you, your intelligence, and your nose-picking habit because you live in Utah County. Right. Got it...

Come on now, don't get offended at every little thing... BYU Sucks. We all know that. We just have to go down there to their cookie cutter stadium for one game and endure it as they force their morals onto us. Everybody breathe. Oh and by the way Provo sucks.
