Yes, give them a calling right away to get them involved. Good idea.

Oops, wrong organization. 🕺

Hey, SP...is there any way to combine the meeting chatter in "How potential Loyalists perceive us..." thread and this one? Seems like there are two seperate discussions going on now about the same thing, and I'd hate for this momentum to get lost.

bwahahahahaha.....beautiful.

Then periodically we'll work with SoccerPrime to organize a list of "inactive" Loyalists, see if we can't visit them, preferably in pairs, and I'm pretty sure someone has already mentioned wearing name tags...

Bordy, you should most emphatically not shut up. We didn't get all that many people to meetings when we very small, either.

This is starting to sound somewhat like discussion among teachers about the local education associations. They complain about what the JEA, in my case, is doing while forgetting that they either are the JEA, or refusing to join.

Anyway political decisions go to whomoever shows up.

So, in the spirit of not coming off as, say, "uninviting elitists", I would suggest involving ALL of the Loyalists to share input as much as possible. This would ideally include:

1) Notification of the meeting to all Loyalists via e-mail
2) Ask for input or ideas to discuss and/or items to be added to the agenda prior to the meeting, via e-mail
3) Agenda and Meeting Notes sent via e-mail

etcetera. Then ask for nominations/etc. via e-mail so that people that didn't happen to be there, or who don't feel like they're part of the "core group", don't come away feeling like the Loyalist head clique just got together and appointed their friends to positions of power, à la U.S. Government.

I think this is a perfect opportunity to begin to overcome some of those "Section 37-esque" concerns.

bordy will now shut up.
Holy heck! You're the smartest (there's another variation on that word which would also apply, but not in this instance.) Now all we need is Glenn to voice his overarching approval for the whole thing, or else this will be considered a mutiny!

There's not enough time for this to happen tomorrow. How about a different time?

See, you've got the right idea. Just don't wait until the last day of the month to visit the people on your list.

I was thinking, once we have the committees, we should also ask neil if he would set up subforums for each one. It could be used by committee members to do their business, and also people who aren't on the committee, but have ideas for it, could chime in with their two cents worth.

When new members join, we should tell them about the comittees, and ASK them if they want to be in one. There are some people who wouldn't want to do anything I think. I go to the games with one of them every week.

Jules, I see tomorrow as more of a start than an all encompassing thing. I'm thinking tomorrow should be more of an agenda setting thing, and then hold a general membership meeting in about a week?

If you can't make it pm items of concern to someone who will who can be a proxy for you?

There's another away game next week. We could do some organizing tomorrow and next week and then have something really special by then.

Maybe we could even do it at a park or something with a playground so people with smaller children will have someplace to banish... uh send their kids to. It might be a little distracting, but hearing some of the meeting is better than not hearing any of it because you can't attend at all. Just a thought.
