Great Idea Snarf... what I gather from what you are saying is this... let us deficate or vacate the toilet!

Obviously if no leadership are in attendance then we discuss as an organised group and vote on ideas to put to the leadership for consideration.

We all talked about meeting early for a meeting at Iggy's, the last time we talked about it everyone seemed receptive to the idea.

So let's talk meeting times.

The match starts at 8pm (mst) most ppl show up between 15-30 minutes early.
So that on the outside is 7:30.
To get any real discussions done we need at least an hour so that puts it at 6:30. But if Jules brings the agendas she wrote up then we will prolly need another 30-60 minutes to cover all the topics and have a reasonable discussion. That puts it at 5:30'ish

Does anyone want to add anything to this? Obviously if I am being to generous with time or too stingy... lets hear it.

I think we should leave time for meaningful discussuion... I am just suggesting this... it is really up to you all.

Discuss?

I will make it on Saturday as soon as I can... meeting is good.

I just have one word of warning... keep the discussion focused. The meetings we have had in the past seem to drag on way to long for what actually gets accomplished.

Contrary to how some people feel... we don't shoot down ideas... we have just been very busy. I can't remember who said it first, but I know it was Jules idea, but creating committe's is probably one of the most pertanant items of business. Once people are in charge of things, they can get things done even if Loyal1 and I are busy and then simply submit plans for funding/approval.

We have been far from perfect in our inaguaral campaign, but lets learn from the past. Lets get it done.

I far one love your contributions to the cause Snarf.
I don't have to work tonight (thank you, there is a God) so I can spend time putting up the chants and videos for the world to see. As for all the crap, agreed. Lets work on supporting the teams, not the egos.

Also, I might add that I appreciate you helping the MLS predicition threads. Although if you would stop winning, I would appreciate that more. πŸ˜‰ JK

I would also like to see things kicked up "another notch!!" (BAM!) But I'm in no position to do anything.

I want to clarify. Some people consider me part of the Loyalists leadership because I do the newsletter, but that's really all I do. I'm not in a position to make decisions or really get ideas implemented more than anybody else. I've thrown a lot of ideas out there and I'd love to see them implemented but it's not in my hands. I just wanted to clarify where I stand in the Loyalists "hierarchy": glorified scribe. πŸ˜‰

I really don't think Glenn is going to appreciate us moving forward with organizing the Loyalists without him.

I don't like the idea of doing it pre-game because my babysitting favors on game days are already enormously long. I'll see what I can swing to try to be there so I don't get voted "Junior Assistant to the Scribe to the Press Secretary's Assistant Scribe."

I think just having one person say "Hey I'll do it" and then everyone else going, "Oh I don't want to hurt his feelings, so I better just go with the group" is NOT the most effective way to nominate people to semi-permanent positions. I think Glenn should nominate some people and let people vote from there. Or discuss it here first extensively where we're more likely to actually speak our minds. Somebody just call Glenn and say, "Hey can we do this?" or something.

Back to the original topic of the thread: I know how people feel. I'm always nervous at the tailgates because I feel like I don't really fit in. I went up to Iggy's once and my experience was this: All the people who knew each other got there early and got the front tables. They sat around talking and laughing with each other and all the "second class" citizens such as myself sat behind and around them. I tried to make conversation with people and it fell flat. So I didn't talk to anybody other than my friends at my table the entire time. I decided then and there that I wasn't going to waste gas to go to Salt Lake to talk to my Utah County friends and I haven't been back.

Yes, many of you seem clique-ish. You don't mean to, but that's how it looks and comes off. This is another topic for discussion: how to welcome new people. Even having name tags would go a loooooong way toward helping people get to know others. I'm honestly too shy to just go ask somebody their name. I assume everybody else knows more people than I do and I just assume I'm the outsider except with the few people I already know.

And that is coming from somebody that most would consider "inside" the Loyalists pretty deeply. 😴 Wake up! I'm still typing! πŸ˜‰

I didn't know anyone in the Loyalists before I started going. I actually thought you were sitting with your friends as you seemed to me to be right at home. I don't know how we got this cliquish image as most of us didn't know each other before the process started. I think the front tables were pretty much first come first served.

Despite that, if we have given that vibe to people who are in from the beginning, perhaps we need a "sunshine committee" at least thats what we call it in school.

I think things stagnated because we stopped having meetings to discuss these things during the season..

I think it would be a great idea to talk about things before the game Sat. even if DAve or Glenn can't make it. If nothing else, we will have a coherent agenda to present them with. Steve is usually there.

We absolutely have some things we need to talk about.

If dysko is there, does that count? Can we try and make sure that glenn comes out? Or at least knows what we are going to do? I can send him an email or call him or somebody he hears from more often...dysko maybe, could do that. I don't want to piss anyone off here, I just want to get going is all.

That's been my concern too. Will my wife let me come? Either she stays home with the kids on a saturday night, or we find a babysitter and pay...maybe my sister or someone would like to babysit again...

However, I don't think we should be electing people tomorrow night, just creating the positions. Then we could have the nominations and elections on the board or via email. Perhaps via your weekly newsletter?

Glenn could nominate, but I think people should be able to nominate themselves or others that they believe would be good for certain positions. And a person should have to accept a nomination, because just because they're nominated doesn't mean they want it. I personally would like to be a member of a committee rather than a committee head of any sort. But I'll have to consider that for a bit...

I have felt the same. I'm not an outgoing guy. I have talked a little with Stucki and Aero, because I sat at their tables, and and Dadof3 (who I haven't seen a post from in a while...speaking of that, whatever happened to FuzzyForeigner?). Glenn was always great, and always made me feel welcome, but I usually wound up talking solely with whoever I brought with me.

I never felt that there were cliques, I just knew, as usual, that I didn't have the guts to approach people. I was thinking of going by the dollar store or Wal-mart or something, and getting some of those "Hello, my name is..." stickers, and handing them out tomorrow. Aerick made himself a name badge for the game on the 22nd, and now I know who he is. I didn't make one for myself though, and I bet he doesn't know who I am.

I concur!
I am in the same boat as Jules. I may be very vocal but that is because I am passionate about RSL.
In reality I am no more than the photographer and someone once called me the "Loyalist entertainment director" but that is not me. I like to see things happen and i am very vocal about those things.
It does not mean I can make them happen anymore than any of you can.

I have been involved with the Rocky Mountain Cup and C10 more at the begining and in the past month or so but other people have contributed more than me and deserve to be recognised for it. They know who they are and i say Kudos to you all.

I have become very wrapped up in RSL and being a big part of all that is going on in their Inaugural Season.
Sometimes I rub people the wrong way. When I know I have done so I try to make amends(but I expect to be met half way on that)
It is not my intention to upset people but sometimes it happens.
I accept that I can not please everyone. Even tho that would be my wish.

Even tho I am very vocal and very passionate about RSL, even tho I am not perfect, I want to do what is right... and i want to let you all know that I am proud to be standing with all of you.

Sorry I am getting away from my point.
My real point is that I have no more say in the way things work inside of the Loyalists than any of you do... So get out there and make yourselves heard.

Viva RSL
