I assume we're going to use Utah beer to do this? Just checking because a good beer being used to boil something seems like a waste. Sounds good, I'm up for one.

Talked a bit about this last night on another thread (probably another board actually) but...

Beer will definitely not be sold in the stadium, they couldn't even sell it during the Olympics ceremonies there in 2002. As far as outside the stadium, alcohol has long been allowed at tailgating events before Utah pointy-ball games. For pointy-ball, the big tailgate lot (where people buy passes allowing then to bring in their RVs, buses, yachts, tractor trailers, etc.) is the one southeast of Rice_Eccles on the other side of 5th south, while other people with smaller vehicles (pickups, SUVs, VW buses etc.) party in other lots, the one North of Merrill Engineering is popular. Pretty much drinking before the games is pretty much out in the open in parking lots all over campus on game day. (While a few students tossing down a few cool ones in a parking lot on a school day would likely be told to desist if spotted.)
I would think it will be allowed in the parking lots before the RSL matches, but we'll have to see what happens next week.

Also, let this be my offical anouncment: I am currently working on a collection of songs to be known as "The Unofficial RSL Tailgating Sountrack." These are mostly rowdy sing-alongs. I will make a (small) pile of copies to be distributed to my new friends on this board, as I meet you all at the tailgate party. If there are any soccer songs that MUST be on the compilation, please let me know. I look forward to meeting all of you.

One last thing; does anyone love a good beer-boiled bratwurst?

Is there a human on the planet who does NOT love a good beer-boiled Brat? 😕

BTW: for those who choose not to partake...the alcohol (errr...flavoring) gets boiled off in the process...so no reason to worry about a visit from the Bishop if you partake in said brats... :p

So... is someone going to sponsor our tailgate (with a sign as "official Loyalist sponsor" kind of thing going on) or are we doing pot luck? Either one is fine by me.

I think it would be of more interest to those outside the Loyalists if it were sponsored and they could show up and pay a few dollars and get in for some good food. Of course Loyalists would get in free or something like that. Who knows.

Just an idea.

😉

Whatever food items are decided on, I think this has GOT to be one of them! THE DIFINITIVE tailgate food item. I don't think I can wait that long.
