Let's totally piss off the station that does our radio coverage, that can be our schtick. I'd prefer if 700 or 1160 did the game. I know Graham is trying to be funny, he seemed like a nice enough guy at the tailgate, he's going to get some more nasty emails from us, so I'm sure it will add entertainment for his non-soccer audience.

Yeah, I called in, and was embarrassed by the fact that soccer fans didn't "represent", but I DID have to leave work early just to call in. I believe he is a nice guy that is just using a schtick like stucki said. I'm not sure if he's using it to drum up more soccer coverage by riling us soccer fans, or if he's just trying to be the friend of the football/baseball/basketball hardcore fan. One point that I wish I had made (isn't that the way it always goes...) is that I want to do what RSL considers to be helpful to the support of the team. If RSL doesn't like the face paint, or the streamers, heaven help me if I don't walk out and throw away my paints and streamers. It's about supporting the team, not appealing to radio personalities and their opinion of acceptable (read "non-namby-pamby") fan behavior.

Although, it WAS nice that we ended up winning the instapoll. 🙂

I have listened to 1280 for quite some time. All they like to feed is their own ego's. I have stuck with Hot Ticket 700. Bill Riley does a great job, not to mention he is the play by play guy.

Would a public feud between Graham and the Loyalists/RCB improve or deter from soccer coverage/acceptance/promotions? And what type of feud? Friendly or unfriendly? I think this is a worthy discussion.

It seems like each time I go there, though, I don't hear Bill at all or not talking about soccer. And I must admit that I do like an entertainment factor in sports radio, and not just a stats discussion.

Riles is on from 4-7pm. He does a great job. PK did me in for 1280. I can not stand to listen to that guy.

Riley's always talking about RSL, among other things. I didn't listen today, but I'm sure he had a lot to say about yesterday's game. He seems to have a lot more insight into the game and more rapport with the players and managers. I can't say that about Graham et al. Graham's first game was yesterday, I think that says it all.

Will Loyalists vs. 1280 be good for ratings. I don't know. If it keeps up it will just get to be boring after a while. I listen to Jim Rome for entertainment value, but the majority of his show is bashing sports figures and public figures. If that's the audience that 1280 is going for, then fine, but I like some keen insight once in a while too, and Riles seems to be the one with the insight. 1280 is the one with the schtick.

Clarification, I didn't mention a Loyalists vs. 1280 holy war, and I don't think Czar Jake intoned that either, but rather one with Graham. Monson and Hatch are two soccer/Real apologists, and that should be commended.

If we did decide to do so, I think it would be more beneficial for all involved to do so in a tongue in cheek friendly manner rather than a vicious one.

I think that's all it is now. The emails I sent to Graham today were tongue in cheek. He might think I'm being defensive and if he does that's fine. At least he's not bashing on religious or ethnic groups. Hey, could we get ourselves registered as a minority and sue them for hate speech? 🙂
