The Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune are now celebrating their victory. Well done, purveyors of opinions masquerading as journalism. You have achieved your goal.

BTW the reporter for KUTV says that Dolan isn't exactly done, the Mayor might go to the legislature for help. Not 100% done anyway.

I know I've read this somewhere before 😉

The only problem I had with Jenny Wilson's suggestion is that it doesn't account for probably deadlines and restrictions placed on RSL by MLS regarding the stadium. She was willing to try and go just one more year at RES after Joe Hatch pitched the idea that died, because she wanted more time to make sure this was a good thing to do. I'm not so sure she's against the Hatch deal, but she felt too rushed at this point to feel comfortable doing anything. She could be a swing vote if more time were given.

Crockett and Bradley both were definite "No's", and I'm not sure about Hendrickson, but everyone else appeared to be for the proposal (now or later). I'm surprised by Wilde's decision, and frankly, disappointed.

I had to leave just before the vote, and am surprised by the outcome. They called a "5 minute" recess just before they voted - I can't remember who suggested it, Crockett? And I wonder if some last minute alliances were formed/broken during the recess that caused the downfall of Hatch's plan.

What would be cool is to put it in south Davis county, right near the border of SL County (which is much closer to downtown than Sandy is, and perhaps approximately the same distance as the fairpark is, and that way they could stiff SL County on all the revenue but still present a "Salt Lake" feel to the stadium - much more so than a Utah county option would. There's alot of area available for development west of I-15 in North Salt Lake that has easy access from both I-15 and I-215.

Here's a picture:

Are you sure Deuce? I though Decker said was talking about what Dollan was going to do next. I thought he also said that RSL made no comment, and then restated what RSL had said in the past, that RSL will make this happen, somehow.
