Yes they were so fixated on the 45 million that they totally missed the $100 million + in private investment in the county...

That is good government baby...

Why would Utah County not work though? New York Red Bulls play in a different STATE!

Few MLS teams actually play in the city they are named after!

In all seriousness, this meeting was horribly depressing. These ppl just dont get it. At one point someone asked "is soccer viable in the future?" Are you kidding me??? Its the most loved game in WORLD. The US is behind in its passion for soccer but it will come. I can't help but think of the article posted before the world cup about "get ready to hate America". In 20 years when Real Centerville is booming, I will take great joy in shoving it down Crockett's SELF-RIGHTEOUS throat.

Very good idea, Aerick! That would save me some drive time too. 🙂

I wish I could have been there today. However, my wife and kids were there to show support.

Horiuchi has vision...the NO voters are blind.

Check out news broadcasts tonight. You will see how upset I was. I was interviewed by 2, 4 and 5. I may have called Wilde spineless on one of them.

Way to go Stucki!!

In regards to Deuce's refinery concern, if you go farther north a little (still within the red circle in my artistic rendition), you have land around Redwood road just off of 215 that could be turned into a soccer stadium area. The main problem with this area, though, is it doesn't have the same scenic atmosphere that Sandy has, and that even the fairpark has.

Pros for this area include:
-Soccer Complex-able
-Growth
-Cheap
-"Stick it to SL County"

Cons include:
-Lack of scenery
-Out of Salt Lake City/County

Fox 13 interviewed my 11 yr old. He was scared to death....but his honesty about his love of soccer/ReAL was enough to pull the heart strings...

Howes is a partner of Sports Capital... if I understand things correctly. That would make it very hard to fire him... as far as Love... I say can 'em.

I am disappointed, but I have faith that this proposal is not the last we will see. I believe that the Checketts organization (SCP) will find a solution that makes sense. If the team were 8-10 years in and was stuck where they are, with a subpar product and losing money... then fear of losing the team might be more realistic.

I believe Uncle Dave will come through.

And if Mr. Crockett or Wilde are reading this I have message for you... :bigfinger

Fox 13 interviewed Taylor as well. Derek Jensen quoted her in his Trib article.

I was very fired up when I was on camera. They asked me a question and I ranted for about 5 minutes. The KSL guy, I forget his name, had to interrupt me to ask a second question.
