In England they have a lottery to support stadium building.

Utahns already run up there once a week to buy tickets, the only difference would be the stadium funding. If we elect more politicians like Rocky Anderson, maybe one day Utah will have a lottery, but that's just my opinion and I'm not going to make any more political comments.

I became an MLS fan watching the San Jose Earthquakes win championships, and barely manage to make the paper.

Here in Utah, our cities fought over the opportunity to have a stadium within their borders. Your hated Tom Dolan manoevered to GET the stadium. Everywhere else, they manoever to refuse any and all possibilities at a stadium. We have a team, and they will be here forever. San Jose, who will probably take home their 3rd league championship this year, is still on the bubble and likely to head elsewhere every single year.

We have a team. And a stadium. If you think going to Sandy is bad, you could live in San Antonio, who was promised a team in 2006. But come 2006, they will have to commute to Dallas to see any soccer.

It's too bad to see so many ungrateful fans. I for one, am dancing a jig all day long. Watch Fox13 tonight, loyalists, I'm sure they'll do a package on the stadium, I'm sure they'll have me edit it. So I'll surely use that footage of us from week one. Yeeee-frickin-haaaa!

Well said, nuff said.

I hope nobody boo's when it's announced. It won't be perceived in the way it's being intended.

❗ Boo on the Boo-ers!

More than just being happy about having a stadium, I am ecstatic about the Sandy location. Sure it's Real Salt Lake, but Salt Lake is a county, not just a city. There are loads of fans south of the downtown border, and I think the crowds will be even better in a middle-of-the-valley location. Plus, think of the extra room for parking. If you are unhappy with the decision, I can appreciate your opinion, but don't go yelling foul at the politicians until you know the truth for sure ("I'm blind, I'm deaf, I wanna be a ref"). And please don't boo the stadium announcement. There are more productive ways to make your opinion known than to boo the franchise you are supposedly "loyal" to. :fish:

My loyalty is for the team.

My loyalty is NOT for stadium site.

My loyalty is NOT for politicians.

Were I not several thousand miles away, I would voice my displeasure without regret.

ESPECIALLY if any of the politicians are introduced at the game. It would be over then.

Also, we've brought our "build it downtown" sign many times and for a very good reason. We never once brought a sign that said "we're just happy for whatever".

Because we're not just happy with whatever.

And what's with this "just be quiet about it" thing? Since when have soccer fans ever just been quiet about things.
