Thanks Rocky, your comments in the newspaper were encouraging. You didn't want it here in the first place. Go play for Chivas you cheap shot.

Dolan you are a criminal to buy the stadium with Salt Lake taxpayers dollars.

I am so ticked I can't even think.

Welcome to Sandy where we have the Gravel Pit Stadium. GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

You just don't get it. Sure Sandy is suburban suckitude, but there will be a stadium there. RSL fans are so freakin' spoiled because we have had nothing but good will and support from the beginning. Some of us got a look at how bad it can be when we took a trip to Crapidville, but it could even be worse than that. They're getting a stadium too. I came from Northern California just one year ago. I became an MLS fan watching the San Jose Earthquakes win championships, and barely manage to make the paper.

Here in Utah, our cities fought over the opportunity to have a stadium within their borders. Your hated Tom Dolan manoevered to GET the stadium. Everywhere else, they manoever to refuse any and all possibilities at a stadium. We have a team, and they will be here forever. San Jose, who will probably take home their 3rd league championship this year, is still on the bubble and likely to head elsewhere every single year.

We have a team. And a stadium. If you think going to Sandy is bad, you could live in San Antonio, who was promised a team in 2006. But come 2006, they will have to commute to Dallas to see any soccer.

It's too bad to see so many ungrateful fans. I for one, am dancing a jig all day long. Watch Fox13 tonight, loyalists, I'm sure they'll do a package on the stadium, I'm sure they'll have me edit it. So I'll surely use that footage of us from week one. Yeeee-frickin-haaaa!

Boo all you want. I sang Dave's praises when he brought MLS to Utah and I will be singing his praises tomorrow when he announces a SS stadium.

Fuegote: what dimensions would you like those angel wings for the choir?

I am not booing Dave. He wanted the stadium downtown. He always expressed how much he wanted it downtown.

I am mad at the politicians.

I wish the organization would do something more. There has got to be more that can be done. I don't think this fight should be over.

We can all settle and say 'at least we have a stadium', but that is just settling. I am not going to drop it. I have already called the front office. I have also called my local government. A.K.A. Rock'head' Anderson. What happened to all the talk of lets get a petition and we don't want it anywhere else. You guys are just giving up because 'at least we have a stadium'.

I love my team and will support them. I think all the fans are great. I think we deserve all that we have accomplished, but I still have my very strong opinion about the stupid Sandy Stadium.

I'll be cheering, and cheering loudly for the Sandy stadium.

I have complete confidence that Dave Checketts knows better than the rest of us, and that this was the best deal for the future of the club.

As for politics, you have to know how to play with the big kids to do the job.

There's no way everyone was going to be happy with any particular site, so the reaction doesn't surprise me.

I would have liked Downtown as well, but I'm one of the RSL fans who considers this a great move.

I think we jinxed ourselves by having polls-- look at the record:

Pick the team name polls -- Real always lost-- so we have Real Salt Lake.

Where do you want the stadium polls - - Sandy lost - - so we have Sandy stadium.

Do we really want more polls? How about will RSL finish last this season? SHould Ellinger be fired? Do we try reverse psychology and vote for the one we don't want? I'm so confused!!

.

In Los Angeles, not even the NFL can get public funding for a stadium.

In San Francisco, the Giants had to pay for their own stadium.

They've been fighting about this for months. Checketts wanted to have things firmed up and the stadium site announced months ago but the politicians had to play their games causing delays. What more exactly do you want RSL "the organization" to do? Fight for another year for a downtown location which just retards progress for getting a SSS and RSL. Then after fighting for another year we realize we've gone nowhere because the political climate hasn't changed? You think all the politicians involved in this thing are just going to start playing nicely? Rock"head" has an ego that will keep anything from getting done. I'm glad RSL has made a decision and the political dance over the stadium is just about over. The Sandy location will be great.

Some of you remind me of my friend I had when I was 8 who really, really wanted this super-cool $200 skateboard for Christmas. His parents couldn't afford it, and got him the $100 version instead -- which became the ONLY skateboard that any of us kids in the entire neighborhood had. He was pissed when he got it, told his parents that they might as well have not bought him anything. Meanwhile, loads of neighborhood kids were waiting around anxiously to nab the skateboard if he indeed really didn't want it.

The reason that the "petition" idea was dropped is because the majority don't strongly feel that it's that much of an issue. Sorry that we're actually happy that there's a stadium site announced. If you're angry with politicians, let them know. But if you just want to sit around and say "Real Sandy is dumb! Worst thing that could have ever happened! Waaaaahh!", then stay home. Seriously.
