Nice looking crowd - I watched the video on mlsnet.
No Dipsy - was he injured or just sitting? Very entertaining match.... 1 point is better than 0, but worse than 3 🙁

OK I am up late with fussy babies, but I thought it was a great match. SJ got lucky, but so did RSL in a few cases. The ref calls on RSL were mostly bogus, but thats how it goes.
After watching Ray Hudson again, can we get that guy back in MIami, pleasE? And Mel is right, 1 point better than 0.

Concur. The game was entertaining, and although I thought we deserved the win the result wasn't unfair, even if some of the calls were. I think we're progessing well. Each game we get better as a team, and the wins will come. We will need to get better to make a playoff run, but there's not doubt that we have the personnel and coaching to get there. Sure we'd prefer a win, but we'll take the point and head down to LA for the Expansion Derby.

i dont know, i thought the ref was pretty fair, and like you said a draw isnt unfair, even though i thought for sure we had it locked down when the game started dying off.

And that is the bottom line. The game died off. They players seemed to run out of steam. And once SJ leveled the score, they couldn't get it going again, despite a couple of great efforts. I'm wondering if there is a physical conditionning problem. It looked to me like they just got tired and couldn't get it together anymore. Mind you, there were some notable exceptions. Tiger, Clint, and Jason worked to the very end. The whole defense were great. I hate to say it, but I have to point to the midfield again. Either they got tired, or they got into the defensive mode (always a bad thing, in my oppinion) and couldn't get back out after SJ scored their second goal (both inevitable, given the defensive mode). So Jason Kreis is my hero, Clint Mathis made his presence known, Tiger is...well...a tiger, Rusty Pierce is my hero, and the whole defense were fantastic. The rest of the team....where were you? __________________

By the way, I believe the Loyalists outdid themselves last night. It was practically nonstop drumming and singing and chanting. We had at least the sections on either side of us going, too.
On a personal note: I'm tired, I'm sore, and I'm still pealing from the home openner! 😲 __________________

I think Akwari played great on the outside. In fact, I thought both outside defenders did very well. We really missed Pope in the middle, although, I didn't think Benchke had a bad game.
I wasn't impressed by O'Brien when he came in. I didn't like him in the reserve game and he only confirmed my suspicions yesterday. I would have liked to have seen someone else come in, but not sure who. It was good to see some offensive cohesion. Two goals! Williams had some nice touches and Kries and Mathis had things going. Hopefully the offensive output continues. I think RSL sat back too much in the second half. Only two shots. Not enough. The officiating was bad, but remember that SJ hit the pipes twice. That game could/should have been 4-2 for SJ. __________________
