Does anyone else get the feeling that their website is slowly morphing into a porn site? I'm having trouble finding anything about sports on there...

Alimma Harrington talking about the 0-0 tie vs. Metro. Says the weather was unbelievable. He's played at the Meadowlands, mentions the crowd was very small. Mentions the good tv ratings, up against stiff competition.

They are replaying the Coach E. interview from this morning.

Coach E. says he's played in that weather one other time, with the youth national team. Talks about how crazy it is in that weather; the ball goes everywhere. Says you can't really practice in those conditions either. He says our guys were taking very long shots, but he wanted to be more patient and get some closer shots.

RSL looked at the game as a "just survive" situation. He says it was sometimes comical. He says "We'll get 1 point, and not get greedy." Says the Metros are in a transitional period, and both teams are happy with 1 point.

Coach E. says there is a lot of transition in the western conf. Mentions LA got killed by columbus. Adding Landon makes that team a lot better. They have a lot of new personalities on that team.

Says having our own stadium is "hugely" important. Having a SSS is huge from a financial standpoint, and also for the players to have their own place. The plan is to get it in 2 years. It's good for the fans too. USMNT will "absolutely" come here more often if we can build our own stadium.

They are hoping for better weather in LA. The playing surface matters. LA has a short, fast field. Columbus has a different texture, a little slower. AT Rice-Eccles we have the double-whammy (turf, altitude).

"It's a huge boost" to have that high TV rating. He was hoping it would be viewed well back in SLC. "Obviously results are important" but they wanted to impress people back in Utah. Didn't want to get blown out or anything in the first game, where everyone was watching.

I just heard an ad on 1280 where they were talking about the radio broadcast for the game. They said something along the lines of "Come watch the team with thousands of screaming Loyalists." We are becoming famous.

One thing I'm puzzled about though. Where did all of these members come from? We must have had one heckuva membership drive in the last little while. ๐Ÿ™‚

I tried to listen to 1280 this morning. But there was just dead air.

Maybe it's my 12-year-old car's radio?

But the guys on 1320 were talking about it. They seemed pretty positive; especially when you consider that their competitor is broadcasting RSL's games.

One of the announcers said that he talked to Dave Checketts and Checketts said that the his biggest goal for the opening match was to beat Chivas' openers' ticket sales. (Which we did.)

RSL matches are the 2 biggest crowds of the season so far. I am sick and tired of the rest of the league Gravy-Training off of us.............

Speaking of 1280, one guy was just on that was sold on the game and is now buying 2 season tickets. He said it was the best sporting events he's been to in a long time. Hatch is sure giving soccer the hard sell today too.
