chit chat about sleep patterns

RSL best and worst
best the players themselves off the field props to the type of people

worst - stadium deal frustration with people thinking they know what he wants

He is looking at private funding methods. We need a home to get full flavor of the game

decision by Labor day to be in

five sites funding options

no cons of downtown other than politics

political nightmare between Rocky and others

downtown may not be possbile

construction 12 - 16 mos. depending on how elablorate
downtown would take more because of look to fit in with downtown

3 years at RES, lost revenue

not the same experience, 25k feels empty at RES

new stadium 22k sro is different experience

goal is to do it privately with land given by city/state

avoiding tax payey backlash

3- 4 weeks a decision will be made

trying to make it work, no chance of moving

So far Checketts has said:
-5 different sites under consideration
-Labor Day is decision time
-12-16 months to build SSS
-3 Seasons at RES (at least)
-Checketts adamant that he build will it privately, and is leaning towards doing it all alone if he must. Doesn't really want tax payer money...

He doesn't like firing coaches.

Coaches are fired over direction of the club, not losing streaks

hire the right coach and make him secure Ellinger is the man for a long time

Talk about stability paying off in the long run Jazz model
talk about how bad Knicks were because of no stability

stability works in all sports

Moves onto CSTV

I really like almost every single thing he had to say. He is definitely saying all the right things to make me happy.

It is really good to hear some kind of official word on the stadium and that it is going forward. I'm glad that he isn't leaving it up to the politicians and is going to do what he wants to do. Uncle Dave is the man!

Sound like a slight change of direction as far as involving taxpayers, and a reaffirmed commitment to basically get it done even if he has to do it himself. Great news for RSL fans.

Labor Day, eh? Let's see if something is actually announced before then, or if it turns into the infamous MLS perpetual "30-60 days" type deal.

Would be absolutely awesome to have Metros and RSL with new stadiums in 2007.

That would mean the league goes from two venues with fieldturf to ZERO venues with fieldturf in one season... guess we better start winning on grass soon... LOL

THANKS DAVE CHECKETTS!!!!!!

I'm hoping that once the team starts practicing on grass every day they will play better on it.

It will be nice to have stadiums without football lines on the soccer pitch.

Checketts made it clear that RSL will be RES for at least 2006 and 2007 and maybe even longer.
