I WILL continue to listen to their show because I really like Monson - he's kinda the "thinking man's sports editorialist". What I don't agree with, respectfully, is that DadOf8 indicated that there was an agreement amongst all of us on these forums to not listen to their show any further. That's not actually true, and I'll try and address that in my email to Hatch tonight. I think that it's very important that when any of us do send any correspondence to any media outlets, that we purposefully indicate that we DON'T speak for the entire club or group, and that only Glenn, for one, has that authority - at least for the Loyalists, not necessarily for everyone on this board.

Your right. I should not have spoken for the whole group. I wanted to convey to them that there is a signifigant amount of people listening and the potential loss of listeners if they continue to bash soccer. My apologies.

I know there are people that like these sports, and I respect that. I would hope that soccer haters would give us the same respect and give us our time. I also wish that people knew just how exciting the games are because they wouldn't be disappointed. Last night's game against L.A. was a good example of exciting. Some would say, "Ooo, a 1-1 tie." But you have to admit that there was quite a bit of suspense after L.A. scored. And it was also exciting after we scored when we almost scored again. I didn't grow up on soccer but after watching two games I was hooked. I wish people would give it a chance.
I agree that we should be active and vocal in our communication with the various media outlets. But we should also try and be somewhat diplomatic - at least at first. When RSL, MLS, and soccer in general is firmly established here, then perhaps we can let all of our emotions come out, but until then, I think it would be wise to tread a little more lightly for the time being.

My two cents.

No problem man, it'll all work out. We ARE all on the same team after all, right? 🙂

They really don't, that is just it. Graham is a smart ass and enjoys being one. That is his schtick (sp?)

700 employs one of the biggest soccer haters there is, of course eray is just a producer

Sorry, yes that is what I was trying to say. I listen to them more than you do it sounds like, so I have a bigger picture from more information available to me.

I stream them all day at work sometimes. I kind of trade off between 1280, KSL, 700, and my music collection depending on my mood. If they're talking RSL will stay tuned in, if not I will listen to something else. It seems to me like I'm listening to something else quite often. I hope I'm not splitting hairs with you, that's not my intent. And again, any coverage is good coverage.

No problem, you are just letting your bias towards 700 show, I would sound roughly the same if it were reversed.

Counting Gramm they now have only 2 avowed soccer haters. Hatch was but he is coming around. You haven't listened to the zone enough to get a sense of what they are about. If you like the guys on 700 better fine, but you have the wrong idea about 1280, yes I am a p1
and there lies the problem. you've been duped by 1280.

DJ is probably the best in the business, and they stick him with PK who is a soccer hater and knows nothing.

you have allema and pace <yawn>

Hatch, i always liked hatch. the only one who can do the radio show by himself (even though the clown Fox is on with him mostly) on the entire line up.

followed by the Big (waste of time) show with now Graham <soccer hater> and Monson who is a paper person for a reason (ie PK).

If 1280 went DJ by himself, National show in the mid morning, Hatch in the afternoon...I might consider listening to them. Thank heavens for Riles. He not only cover soccer, HE ENJOYS IT! He wants you to talk about it. (i haven't listened to Thomas, i'ld only listen to him because he's a U homer 😉).

He's also unbiased when it comes to what he covers on his show. HE'S A SPORTS FREAK. he's said so many a time, which means....

he likes football, soccer, baseball, basketball, nascar, hocky, etc. You can listen to a couple of paper route boys talk about the 2 sports they like, or you can listen to a true radio personality/reporter cover sports.

i've made my choice and have been very happy since. but you can continue to support hosts that don't like soccer or RSL.

I have to give it up to HAtch because he can handle a show by himself... having done radio before I know how hard it is to do alone.

My take... DJ is awesome, but needs less replays of yesterdays crap on his show.

Hatch... talented and now that he doesn't bash soccer I can stand the guy's show.

Riley... The best in the business.
