Well, that's fine and dandy but what about me?
I had an entire week's worth of posts worked out about how Kreis did not have a game winning goal this season and how he should be benched in favor of a Soto/Harris Tag Team. 7 years of college down the drain, like my role model Bluto Blutarsky would say. Now I'll have to post about how the 1993 LA Salsa was the greatest team of all time.

Most exciting game ever played in that stadium by a lot. I took 3 newbies, too! They are spoiled for any future matches, for sure. The team showed guts, determination, creativity, fight, tenacity, pick your favorite adjective. Once we were man down and goal down I worried it might go as bad as 1-4. Wow! What a magnificent comeback.

Didn't have time to follow the game, but thankfully I was pleasantly suprised when I looked online and saw the result. So how was it, did we out play them with our worldclass style or did we just beat them with grit and determination?
Either way, it's a win and we like winning. Come on RSL...Noxum needs something to watch at the end October....

My dad really enjoyed this game (as did I). He said it was the best one he'd seen at Rice Eccles. What a comeback. Anyone catch the highlights on SportsBeat? No? Oh, that's because they only showed Andy's goal. That's it. Not Atiba's skewering, not Klein's or Kreis' goals, just Andy's goal. "And now more from the BYU waterboy." SportsBeat, my butt. There's only one team in the playoff hunt here in SLC right now, and it's Real Salt Lake. What a travesty.
"WAY TO GO, DALLAS!" --Seaman Jonesy It was fun to yell at Ruiz as he left the field: "2 goals, no points! What justice!" I hate that guy, his ugly face, and his ugly boots 🙂 Mocking him, Sala, and Salazar (is that guy really an MLS ref, or is he some sick joke?) in spanish was WAAAAAY fun. I REALLY liked Jafet, too! He's pretty good...I was hoping that Goodson would give us an own goal at some point, but getting 3 of our own, all during the run of play, is pretty sweet. I cannot complain. GREAT GAME! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO REAL! SALT LAKE!

That was FANTASTIC! I have a serious headache after that one! I can't wait to see all of the RSL goals posted up for GOTW! 😉
To echo the previous poster, I hate Ruiz! I wouldn't trade the likes of Matt Behncke for him! __________________

at teh start of the second half it felt eerily like NY all over again, we seemed to come out lacking enthusiasm. I'm just thankful that we seemed to get it back. I really can't understand how we can have games like this and yet the referees won't get reprimanded, and will continue calling games like that without a word from MLS. I really think MLS needs to step up on its standards, start reviewing the refs more. We may not have good refs, but there's no reason we can't make them into good refs
and i am loving this whole living close to the stadium thing ... now i get home before everyone posts, as opposed to getting home around midnight ... and yes i know i wasn't first after gmae poster, but i was being lazy

Agreed! There are so many things to say, but that just sums it all up. All those complaining about the refs are right, but I am not sure that our game had the worst display of reffing... Hey, at least one of our guys deserved a red card...not Talley, but Harris. How is kicking the keeper in the groin after he clearly has the ball not a red card? Last night Columbus ended up with not one but two undeserved red cards... MLS needs to do something about the reffing as has been stated many times, but we certainly don't have the monopoly on horrible calls. What I want to know is who is instructing these guys to go to the back pocket more quickly? What a horrible idea.

If he'd been given a red, not a person in the stands would have argued, clearly. But, I think the ref saw him hold up, not follow through, and saw that the goalie nearly exited the box with the ball in order to increase the contact. The foot was high and wrong, but the goalie made sure the contact happened. Therefore, Yellow. At least, that is how it looked to me, my seats being about on on line with the front of that box. Talley's red card was deserved due to it being a flagrant aggressive tackle from behind. That kind of tackle ends careers. I didn't like it and I've seen such given only yellow (or not), but red wasn't outlandish. Happened right in front of DadofSix's seats, so I hope he can give his view of the foul. Bottom line on the game was this: Fighting against inconsistent reffing (where were the offsides calls for both of Dallass's goals?), down a man, lacking in leading scorer, this team found a depth of heart they've never shown before, and found a way to finish and win. Klein to Harris to Kreis was a thing of beauty, summed up the season. Harris played well, really well, despite the one idiotic incident.

I haven't seen any highlights on MLSnet.com yet. Is that because FC Dallas didn't bring their camera crew, and now we don't get to revisit any of those goals, let alone have them be contenders for GOTW???
