RSL Reserves vs. FC Dallas Reserves - 9/17/06

Saturday night it was announced that the Reserve match Sunday in Park City was cancelled. While they were signing autographs, I asked the reserves if the match was cancelled or rescheduled. They told me it was actually not cancelled, but moved to RES at 10:00 Sunday morning. "They" (RSL FO/RES?) didn't want the fans to come, but the players encouraged us to come anyways and support them.

Now, does anyone know the details of this? My take on this is that Park City would be too cold Sunday morning, with RES a few degrees warmer. But if this was announced as an actual match, RSL would have to pay for security at the stadium and whatever other fees for a public event.

Also, did anyone (some of you super-Loyalist insiders) make it to the match that could give us a rundown of the results?

Of course the FO wanted fans to come...

The match was moved because of field conditions in Park City. It had snowed the two nights prior to the match.

I was told that the match was open to media but because the Stadium would not be staffed with adequate security, safety and medical staff that it would be closed to the general public.

It was a safety/liability issue... the University did not want to take the risk and agreed to host the match with a "closed door" stipulation... it was out of RSL's hands.

Did any new faces show up at the reserve game? IIRC the MLS deadline for roster changes just happened are happens this week.

For someone that feels so strongly about about RSL, you sure spend a lot of time here.
