And, here we go on the final push for the playoffs. Running the table, as unlikely as that may be, would ensure a playoff spot. Realistically, making sure you get at least a point on the 3 remaining road games, plus wins a the remaining home games puts us in pretty good shape. That effort starts at DCU.

Problem, they are probably still boiling over losing in July due to 2 PKs. This will be a tough match to get the draw or better, but badly needed to keep playoffs in the picture.

DC will be missing Josh Gros with a red card suspension and Bobby Boswell, Christian Gomez, Alecko Eskandarian with yellow card accumulations.

This could help us out.

Don't forget Jaime Moreno and Freddy Adu! They'll be out with injuries.

IIRC Wilson is out for the year with a knee injury.

Can't overlook DCU because a few players are out. Whether justified or not, they felt very cheated after we beat them 2-1 on a pair of late penalties last time and they will want some revenge. They will give us a battle and we'll have to be ready for them if we want a positive result from this one.

i can understand them disliking losing to two late goals ... but they can't feel "cheated" without being dumbasses ... they were legit penalties.

It's like saying i feel cheated that we lost to *insert one of many teams here* because RSL made a mistake.

Actually, Moreno may play, and Freddy almost certainly will. Freddy was playing in the USOC debacle against Chicago.

However, Eskandarian, Gomez, Gros, and Boswell will all be out.

Expect to see the names Dyachenko, Donnet, DeRoux, Stokes, and Walker.

True this. But they may feel angry at having given up those PKs. So the ultimate point still remains.

While I agree the penalties were legit, the second one, if it had not been called, would have raised just as many howls on our side as it raised on their side for it being called. That is, it was close. I think the main reason it was called was there was a third opportunity for a penalty not called a few moments earlier (by the same defender, IIRC) and I think the CR decided that he had to call one after seeing two, either of which could have been called. From the DC United perspective, close is just close and shouldn't be called.

Regardless of how rational, they *do* feel cheated and that emotion is a powerful motivator.
