Must have been some pretty significant factors to keep them at RES for this game.

As a fan, I would have preferred to be at LES. BYU/UofU rivalry aside. Cheaper tickets (likely), more fans and better field conditions are more important to me as a fan. However, if RES has been chosen due to some of the unsubstantiated ideas on this board, then that's fine with me. The SSS is definitely more important than the slight enhancement of my fan experience at one game. And no, I'm not be sarcastic.

As long as they can get a good surface to play on then I am ok with RES.

I actually have thought a few time that if the game was played in Provo they may not be able to sell it out. Keep in mind the qualifier with Costa Rica didn't sell out, we were 2-3k short of a sell out if I remember correctly. The Real Madrid game could have been tough to sell out at LES if you loose a few thousand because of Provo being more difficult to get to for people up north here.

Hopefully the decision may also help the negotiations to get the stadium built in Sandy.

Interesting. Could you imagine them turning Man U. down?

Looks like there is a plan in place to get a better natural playing surface this time. But it is going to be one game only.

I could imagine them sending their "B" team to Utah while the "real" Real players play against United.
