Ledge? What ledge?

I went to Pilates last night, had some nice tabbouleh at Cafe Med, watched Lost, and pretty much stayed off the Internet.

It was a good night.

That really pisses me off as well. That and the fact that if RSL moves elsewhere (different state or different county) SL County will have lost a huge money making opportunity. Forget 87 million dollars! Having a taxed, succesfull soccer stadium and team in your county for decades to come is worth far more than a measly 87 million dollars. Nothing about this makes sense unless you're ultra conservative and/or have a complete lack of vision.

Furthermore, while we're sounding off on this topic, I was listening to talk radio this morning as I was driving into work, and on 570 KNRS a caller called in to talk about how happy he was that the county made the right decision because "didn't Larry Miller build the whole Delta Center with his own money?" If I would have remembered the number, I would have called in. 😠

I can only imagine what SL County is/was thinking. It's like putting on a jacket and reaching in your pocket to find....$45million. Thanks RSL!

The TRT had momentum of its own independent of RSL. The tax increase passed because it brought new tourism money to rural counties. RSL had little to do with how Iron County viewed the TRT.

Mayor Corroon will survive this easily as long as the $35 million still goes to Sandy for something else. Which it will

what about the uproar that was there a couple of months ago? "don't raise the taxes, this will push tourists away."

but now that we have the money.....

Mayor Buffoon lost my vote (I don't vote for dems frequently, I made an exception for him....i guess that's a lesson learned).

Ya know, one of the country commisioners did comment that the state was giving them this taxing power to get the stadium done and that if they didn't do it, they'd pay the price. I wonder what pet projects the county has that are going to get squished? Could we see the state suddenly funding a new state park or three that takes up some of the open space the county was looking at and doing it in a way that it steals Corroon's thunder? Afterall, it s not just about getting things done but getting them done in a way that you look like the one that accomplished it.

The talk in the Trib about a move to Pheonix is a complete crock of crap.

Howes made a trip to Pheonix recently on a minor detail not related to anything pertinent. This really is a case of Derek Jensen making stuff up. And Kragthorpe.

With calls and letters let's kill 'em with kindness and actual facts.
