but wait...I forgot. This is all one giant conspiracy to have a land development in "the city that shall not be named" not about soccer. So maybe it's better to not have a team at all.

I wonder where the grassy knoll is in all this.

Ironic that my husband has had job prospects in both Phoenix and Denver in the last few months. If RSL moves to Phoenix, we may have to make a couple calls and tell them we changed our minds.

IIRC Uncle Dave said that he would do it privately if necessary.
The money he was asking for was for upgrades to the infrastructure surrounding the stadium...
Stuff that needs to be done anyway!

I'm still trying to get answer to a question I've asked about this a few times. Even if Uncle Dave can fund the SSS privately, won't he still need county/city money for the infrastructure (sewage, electricity, telephone, cable connections, etc...)? So at some level won't the county/city have to pony up?

The Rabbits' owner is building a stadium (or found some stupid taxpayers to do it for them) so they are committed to soccer on the Front Strange.

Seeing as they have Kirovski, Mathis and Clavijo, they are committed to crappy soccer.

But at least they are committed to soccer.

I am optimistic because Mayor Dolan is still mayor of Sandy.
RSL already has at least 22 acres under contract.
Uncle Dave has secured 90 + million in financing.

My prediction is that Sandy finds the money to do the infrastructure improvement, and the land purchase either has RDA fingerprints, or Uncle Dave buys the land himself.

The club needs a Real City type complex, or they have to build in two locations. It makes more sense to build what you need at only one.

It isn't like the county was paying for the whole thing anyway, they were buying the land and paying for infrastructure improvements. It is in Sandy's interest to make the improvements to the area anyway.

If I lived in cRapidsville, I would probably attend as many or more RSL games than I plan to this season.

Speaking of coming in off the ledge, I'd imagine that's the reason the cRapids only have two fans. The rest jumped off ledges long ago. We should have read the obituaries section after the Cunningham/Mathis trade...

Will someone, anyone please answer this one for me...

How can the county now spend this money that RSL lobbied for? Can't we now rescind the tax that was added to help fund the stadium?

I can only imagine what SL County is/was thinking. It's like putting on a jacket and reaching in your pocket to find....$45million. Thanks RSL!

fuegote, the most evil man on the planet because he's from the city that shall not be named.

I guess not necessarily.

I would suppose any private business that would build their own facility would have to cover all construction costs.
