Well said.

When it comes down to it... both Kries and Mina's goals were very good goals. Which one had the most wow factor? The Mina goal in my mind.

It is something that may have been a fortuitous mistake. But as somene else pointed out, it will probably not be replicated in a million years. And a goal the will most likely not be replicated stands out in my mind above the goal that (hopefully) we will se replicated many times this year. That to me is what makes Mina's goal so amazing.
I enjoy watching a build up that ends in a well executed goal. The team effort that pays off... like drawing the foul in that corner that resulted in the Klein free kick that was spot on and allowed Jason Kreis to rise to the occasion.

I think lucky goals are just that... lucky! I will agree that it is the lucky goals that stick in peoples minds... but that is because they are unusual... alot of coaches would bench a player for such a desperate shot. Luckily for Mina it went in... But Goal of the Week... no way!
I won't buy that it has a greater wow factor.
I would much rather be wow'ed with skillful execution and a team effort, than a hail mary fluke like the Mina goal...

Of course that means you are assuming that it was lucky... Of course there is also the possibility that he nailed a really well placed shot. I for one believe it was the later.

Useless argument really... because these matters of oppinion are just that. I admitted that there is the possibility that he was nothing more than lucky. However, that is not what I believe actually happened.

I believe Mina intended that to be a shot after he caught the keeper making a move for a cross. If you notice, both of his runners are at the far post. But, he looks up at the last second... hesitates to make sure the keeper is moving and then pulls the ball near post. Do I believe that it was supposed to be a cross? No, I bleive it was a shot as he caught the keeper anticipating a cross.

Skill abounds in Mina's goal... Skill abounds in Kreis' goal.

Luckily for Kreis his went in... but goal of the week? Not this week in my mind.

Unlike Mina's, which was a shot, by the way - look at the spin and trajectory, no way that's a cross unless he mis-hit it - he just got lucky Cannon was out of position.

The placement of Jason's header was impeccable. Not to mention the sentimentality of an 89th minute goal at home, back from injury, etc. etc.

We're down in the voting, so VOTE FOLKS!! :signrocko

Oh well, the important thing is that BBM is pulled even with the guy who used to play here, and my script is still running.

Hopefully he will pull ahead as it runs tonight.

Break out your scripts everyone!!

I wonder how long it will take before MLS gets smart and changes the security methods on the voting. Maybe once they start seeing 100's of thousands of votes instead of just a thousand or two? 😁

I guess they need a new programmer or we have one because

Cornell Glen, LAG 12%
Jason Kreis, RSL 40%
Roberto Mina, FCD 38%
Ante Razov, CDC 3%
Greg Vanney, FCD 7%
