Help me understand why the Mina goal was so amazing in everyone's estimation...
I thought it was a fluke and didn't show any skill whatsoever. Like the Novak goal last season in SJ, the one that rolled in after a throw in.... it was a fluke goal.

I just wish RSL could have some luck like that when they take desperate shots on goal.

I have to agree halfway there. It looked nice going in...but at the same time it looked like he was trying to cross it and it accidentally went in. I love fluke goals sometimes though.

With the Mina goal, you'll never know whether he was shooting or crossing. And he'll never replicate it in a million years.

With the Kreis goal, its sheer and utter skill, something he has replicated 100 other times.

The Mina goal has the 'wow' factor because of the distance. The Kreis goal is an absolute thing of beauty because of the timing with which he meets the ball perfectly in the air. The trajectory of the ball as it travels into the corner of the net is amazing as it evades all of the defenders and the keeper.

With it, Kreis announced that he was back from injury.

And the trademark celebration punctuated the goal.

Sheer skill. Lovely.

I have seen a million goals off of corners... and at least half of them were headers.

When it comes down to it... both Kries and Mina's goals were very good goals. Which one had the most wow factor? The Mina goal in my mind.

It is something that may have been a fortuitous mistake. But as somene else pointed out, it will probably not be replicated in a million years. And a goal the will most likely not be replicated stands out in my mind above the goal that (hopefully) we will se replicated many times this year. That to me is what makes Mina's goal so amazing.

Didn't Ronnie O'Brien do the same thing last season? 😉

The Mina goal definitely has a greater wow factor. The Kreis goal has a greater skill factor.

well until they have "wow factor of the week" or "skill goal of the week" I'll be voting for goal of the week.

The Mina goal has the "GK screwed up" factor. The fact is, if Cannon isn't cheating to the impending cross, Mina's shot is tipped harmlessly over and we're not having this debate.

Kreis' goal, OTOH, is a work of art. The power (that's a long header), the placement, the fact that it's a pressure situation and the smallest guy on the field, makes this the GOTW.
