If the mascot behaves like the chupacabra then it might work. Hang out at the Carnival Real and make stuff out of balloons. Even go to schools and tell the kids to read and turn in their dope. He/it could even participate in the kick for chicken at the half.

I have to say this is the best mascot discussion since we learned that Captain Blitzz was a shy family guy that liked chocolate.

The scantily clad cheerleaders versus man in speedo argument really isn't a fair comparison. We all know that sex sells, but we all also know that men in speedos don't have the same affect on most women that scantily clad women have for men. For example, when a man in speedo shows up on TV, my wife always exclaims "Gross!", however, when a woman in a bikini shows up on TV I stay silent because I don't want to be slapped by what would inevitably come out of my mouth. Of course there are exceptions to this rule. We may get a few more women to come out to the game with a man in a speedo, but we'd likely drive away some of the male fans resulting in a negative attendance draw. However, I think the opposite would be true for cheerleaders. It's a business decision - what will have an affect in growing attendance figures. It may be that they decide to go with a mascot instead of cheerleaders, due to the fact that it won't drive anyone away at least.

while I wouldn't mind having a supersoaker with that kind of range...i.e. my seats to Scholsey's booth...After all, think about the force with which I could then hit the referee (that certainly would have been justified several times last year) Scholes would hardly have been my first...second...last choice of target...come to think of it, if I was ever so bored that I felt like pouring water on scholsey in a speedo with less force than a firehose from 10' away, I would be concerned about the entertainment value of RSL games. On the other hand...think about the potential upsides of a supersoaker filled with chloroform...goodnight Eddie Johnson.

The most concerning thing to me is that you want to spray water on me if I'm wearing a Speedo .. oo er missus. Oh and why stop with EJ?

Won't drive anyone away? Come on, Colorado's ho-hum attendance isn't simply because of the team on the pitch. Would you go to a game with a mascot like this?
