[QUOTE=devNull]I guess it was pretty painful. I was also pretty disapointed in Andy for losing his cool. I was also disappointed in fans for throwing streamers and other items at the ref again. Come on guys. Cut it out! I can almost guarantee that the first time the ref gets hit with a streamer that the streamers go...and it was pretty close last night....anyway, back on topic.
QUOTE My thoughts exactly. The throwing of stuff onto the field needs to stop. For all the good the fans have done, you don't need something like this to tarnish the good name of the RSL fans.

a couple of things Greg Lalas. Said that he felt that the home fans would get on the team, but I think he was just assuming that because other home fans do. The RSL fans have been overwhelmingly positive in my experience. The announcers were complimentary of the fans and the atmosphere until they started throwing streamers etc. I did see some objects thrown at Rev players when they went to take a late corner...let me agree with a previous comment CUT IT OUT!!
I agree with Clarette that late in the game it felt like there was a lot of standing around...but I have to say that this game in some ways restored my faith in the team. Let me explain. The DC game was enough to make me want to stop watching the team. They were completely disorganized on defense and the midfield gave the ball away on almost every possession. They just looked really really bad. The game against the Revs was a significant improvement on recent performances. I felt that the defense was much much better organized, with the notable exception of the goal. The midfield strung together passes and the team created many more opportunities. For me, the RSL I saw on Saturday was significantly better and easier to watch than the RSL I saw against DC. One thing I don't quite understand is that in the second half they seemed to try and attack on the right side with Gregorio. I thought they had a lot of success working passes through Scarlett and Williams in the first half. And they seemed to drop that completely.

If RSL, a losing team, is getting great support now, just imagine what it will be like when RSL has a winning record and threatens to win the championship. Just look at how Jazz attendance did after the Jazz went to the NBA finals. I would expect 20 to 25 K per game.

I think you are right Dad of 8. If RSL is competetive the games could get really exciting. Imagine sold out soccer specific stadium, hopefully downtown since that is where I want it and it is my day dream :-), fans loud and crazy dressed in red. I really think you are right. If RSL does well this could be a really big thing in Salt Lake.

Does anyone have the reports on the reserves game today?

2-2....the Reserves played very well despite the fact the ref made up his own rules. Sorry, I'm not a writer. I can't give you a beautifully written report.....but it was a good game.

The ref did a great job for 75 minutes as well, and then he went to crap. A straight red for Andy? For TALKING? I want to hear what he said. He must have insulted the ref's mom or something. --Geoff :dontgetit

I want to hear what others have to say about the goal that was taken away from RSL's Tarley due to an offside call. From my perspective of the field (which was on the north endline), Tarley was clearly onside and beat the defense to the ball. I haven't been able to see a replay...any comments?
