3. Convince the folks who used to run the Greektown Grill at Crossroads to come back and run a concession. Better yet, convince a) Red/Blue Iguana; b) Squatters or Wasatch; c) Hires or Crown Burger. I'd love to be eating souvlaki and watching RSL. Or a Crown Burger Special.
4. Heated/air conditioned seats. Well, now I'm just getting silly. I'll have to think of some more later.
Hey, if we're going to have air conditioned seats, how about we get multi-use zoning and build in some housing into the structure, along with shops and offices. This would benefit two groups of people:

(a) People whose life revolve around RSL and... well, that's it.

(b) The players who are making $11K a year and can't afford to live without a second job. Free housing can be the "At least now you can afford lunch" perk. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry. Couldn't resist. <ahem>

reply: players etc

I am thinking that it will be good to see how the next game goes with Andy Williams out. Sometimes I think he holds on to the ball too long.

Although we lost to New England. Defense was awesome and we had control most of the game. The guys were looking tired by the end and it showed. Great putting in Tiger. He's got spark and should start sometime to see where just thinking out loud. :dancing:

I feel pretty strong about keeping the players and working on team building-I don't think REAL is at the point of a major overhaul!! It's our first season! Hey, I am here to stay through the thick and thin!!! (I am also a Red sox fan and see- that finally paid off!)

Here are some of my thoughts.
1) I think a stage at one end like all the other new SSS's is a waste of good seating options. Maybe a stage that stows away under the endline bleachers could be a better option. no lost seating and a stage available for concerts.

2) A midfield tunnel would be the coolest ever.

3) a wide selection of beer, Reasonably priced, and sold in the stadium would be a good start.
Seems silly to me to have a HUGE sponsor such as Budweiser not even be able to benefit from the sponsorship. 20K+ ppl and no beer sales.

4) Roaming vendors in the stands, like they do at baseball games, could alleviate the congestion at the concession stands at halftime.

Steve, speaking of free housing, did you ever finish the deal my wife set up with Cedar Point apartments? I don't think she ever found out.

What I want in the stadium:

1. Mid-field tunnel ("everyone seems to want this"... and so do I - thanks RSLpunk/Deuce)

2. Lots of drinking fountains.

3. A unique style to the stadium. Don't build it cookie cutter style. Make it a one of a kind soccer stadium in the US.

4. An attached building/part of the stadium that has a large room for meetings/banquets/celebrations (for supporters, the team, media, community members, etc.) that also has an RSL Hall of Fame. I know it may be early, but we will need one eventually. Might as well have it in the stadium complex.

5. A dedicated meeting place for away games where fans could get together to watch the game. Big screen with seats. It could be in the "banquet" room.

6. A dedicated "supporters tailgate" location. Grass, trees, tables, drinking fourntains.

Thanks for the thread and thanks for answering our questions. You are quite generous.

I think this:

pretty well anticipates this:

I'm just sayin.'

And if they were to do this:

I'd be in line. Maybe even over the condos they might be building over a new library branch in the Capitol Hill/300 West area. Hard to choose: Condo over library? Condo under/next to/overlooking (!) stadium? Now, if buying said condo also got me free season tix, well....

I don't need air conditioned/heated seats, just something in the shade. If the stadium slightly resembled Old Trafford I think that would be pretty cool too.
