While I was recovering and on some really REALLY good pain meds, I saw 'Shall We Dance'. J Lo is an okay actor. It was a good movie, in my opinion. DadOf8 has promised to take me to see that new Star Wars flick(sorry, not a Star Wars fanatic) as soon as I can stand to sit for long periods of time.

I saw a padawan thing going on. Also, one of them turns to evil to accomplish their aims.

Never understood why REALLY good pain meds are seen as ok when prescribed by a doctor, but a joint is SUPER BAD. Especially when the pain meds and other 5,000 pills people pop for the tiniest aches and pains are much worse in the long run anyway.

Also, ive been watching quite a few hong kong action movies lately. been liking Ong Bak, (which makes Jackie Chan and Jet Lee look like two toddlers fighting on a playground), Ichi the Killer and Long Arm of the Law.

anyone else into hong kong blood operas as well?

I enjoyed Batman Begins quite a bit. Great stuff where he is being trained in the early movie. Quite a darker movie and far less campy then the other Batman movies.

I've seen it...three times. I absolutely loved it! I could go on for a very long time about the movie, but I will sum up in the interest of time. I thought it was the best movie I've seen all year, very well crafted, with excellent writing and very good performances. The depth that they brought to the story was very refreshing and I loved the focus being on Bruce Wayne and not the zaniness of the villians as in previous Batman films. Everything about the movie was understated... even the potentially over-the-top characters, like the Scarecrow (played by Cillian Murphy, my new favorite actor). I will definitely be buying the movie when it comes out on DVD!

I'm not sure about the Star Wars parallels, but I wasn't really watching for them. I'm going to think that one over a bit more.

Concur.

I too was very impressed by the quality of the screenplay. Yes, it was entertaining, but it also carried its themes with a depth and understatement not often seen in movies, especially the big budget type.
