Perhaps you (and others) may have had one or more bad experiences with RCB members (more so than the average poster here), and so you're not too concerned about finding ways to welcome them back. I can empathize with that. In my association with them, however, they appear to be decent people, whose approach hasn't quite "gel'ed" with everyone at times, but whose intent is always to support RSL. I don't feel I have anything to feel guilty about at all. I just believe that this board should be able to accommodate people like that, and it's a bit sad when passionate RSL fans don't feel welcomed here. Agreed, everyone needs to be civil and diplomatic - at least to a certain degree - in order for this type of social structure to work properly. And perhaps I'm idealistic, but I think it can be achieved, and that we should strive to make it so. I'm enthused by Jules' post because of its intent, even though I may disagree with it's proposed solution.

Yes, and if we practice it amongst ourselves, perhaps more people will feel welcome here.

No, not 'ignore it and it will go away' but give it time and it will calm down. I just don't understand why it needs to be hashed out every day if they are not ready or are not wanting to come back. The olive branch has been extended, the sorries have been said, just can we please relax and talk about soccer or lint? They have their own forum, they can post here if they want, I will not attack them even though they have dragged me through the dirt in their own house.

May not be a bad idea at all. I'll second that.

In all honestly, I'm not sure I can remember how to post about soccer. Lint, maybe, but not soccer. :upset:

One last thought. This thread was not started to discuss RCB. It was started to discuss how to make everybody feel comfortable here.

People didn't like the idea. Fine. Big deal. I don't care!

If you want to not discuss the RCB, there's only one way to do it: don't do it. Even if you're trying to calm other people down or defend them or defend yourself, discussing it is discussing it. So if you don't want it discussed, don't lecture people on HOW to not discuss it (like I'm doing right now). Don't lecture people on how correct your assessment of the RCB is. Just shut up and let it drop.

And stop turning my threads into confrontations. I feel like I have the right to discuss real issues without them turning into RCB arguments.

Yeah, what nessie said.

Well, since the second sentence in your post brought them up, why are we not allowed to think that's who the 'some people' are? I think it's great to try to help others feel comfortable but I cannot control how they feel, nor do I want to. This is a confrontational issue no matter how you try to spin it, fresh wounds and all that.
