Mascot

This is just hypothetical. I'm not saying RSL should have a mascot, but if they did, what should it be and why? I think it should be a Spanish Conquistador because of the Spanish origins of the team's name. We could even call him Don, the RSL mascot. (Get it?)

I think Spanish Fork High School has already got a mascot by the name of "Don" and I think they even tie him in to Spain somehow. Not that we care if a High School has the same mascot...

Anyhow, I for one wouldn't want a conquistador because of the historical connotations. That being said, I think the Spain/Royalty connection is something to look into. Perhaps something to do with the Loyal name.. Royal the official Loyal. :p

I think you're right. I was going to suggest a Thunderbird, but that was my high school's mascot and really, there isn't any connection between RSL and Thunderbirds. I didn't think about the racial connotations that a conquistador might have so that might not be such a good idea. Just as long as it's not a bee, anything but a bee.
