I also think that Kirk Snyder will come around. Right now we have a center by committee of Borchardt, Collins, and Handlogten. The only one that is worth his pay is Handlogten, but I don't think he's going to make the difference.

They've also got some guy named Okur...

Although Mehmet, Booze, and Bogut splitting time at two positions wouldn't be terrible...

Okay, my guess is that they end up with the number 4 pick overall and pick Illinois point guard Deron Williams.

Yes, this is a soccer board that also talks about movies, poems, hockey, favorite websites, etc. So, I think this thread is valid 😠

I was thinking about that as I was driving home, yes, Okur too. And Okur is a darn good player, still I don't think he has quite the presence in the middle that the Jazz need. Listening to the radio driving home all the announcers are saying that the Jazz are weak at point guard and maybe that is so, but if the Jazz have a chance to get Bogut I think they should get him. Look at the Lakers, they won a championship without a true point guard. I'm not saying that Bogut is the final piece to the puzzle, but I am saying that you don't have to have a great point guard to win. But look at the teams who have dominated recently, Miami, San Antonio, Detroit. What do they all have in common? A dominant big man. Miami has Shaq, San Antonio has Tim Duncan, and Detroit has Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace. There's a common cliche in the basketball, you can't teach height. I think the Jazz need to go for a dominant big man, that's all I'm saying.

Conspiracy theories would have had much more steam if it would have been NY or LA moving into the top 3. This is just plain bad luck.

Kiss goodbye to anyone that the Jazz had wanted. Trading the pick seems like a real possibility now.

Yeah Milwaukee isn't exactly a marquee marqet either - it just seems like the Jazz never ever get a break!

I agree they may now decide to trade the pick for a veteran point guard. They can't get any of their prospects now.

I'd also like to throw out a name some may not remember:

PAVEL PODKALZINE. Does anyone else remember him? Let me give you the scenario: Last year the Jazz used a draft pick to draft Pavel Podkalzine, a huge dude who is probably a couple years away from being NBA material. I was really excited about it though, until they traded him to the Mavericks for what? a pick THIS year. In other words, they traded a high pick last year for what would almost certainly be a low pick this year (since the Mavs are good). I remember hearing Gordie Chiesa on the radio explaining this gaffe by saying that they expected the Mavs to be bad this year, and that we would definitely be better than them. HOW THE HELL DID THAT TURN OUT, GORDIE??

I said it before, I'll say it again. I expect RSL to have a championship before the Jazz. Soccer has been much more exciting that I had expected and I'm now a bigger RSL fan than I am a Jazz fan. I still hope the Jazz do well but the NBA has been losing my interest for a while now. I haven't watched a single playoff game this year, this is the first year that I've never watched a playoff game whether the Jazz were in it or not. I think the NBA players are overpaid, underacheiving primadonnas. MLS on the other hand are underpaid, overacheiving, and should be famous. It's sad when more people in England know who Eddie Pope is than do people in the U.S. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now.
