I understand your reluctance to get swept away with all the attention, but what happened on Saturday was unprecedented.

Sure, it wasn't a sellout and it's just one game, but I'll cut the hardboiled soccer press some slack on this one. They've been wondering if we'd ever have a true homefield advantage. That it happened in Salt Lake City took just about all of them by surprise, so they've been laying on the superlatives ever since.

In my experience, past games in Columbus and Portland had a true homefield advantage. At times, Foxboro has been good to us too. Salt Lake is now on that short list.

However, with all the great reviews Landon has given Utah and the fans, I wonder if he wouldn't mind playing for RSL... North of Utah County obviously.
Sounds like a lot of the players are making Park City their home.

Nope - Landon is a Southern Cal boy. San Jose was OK, but he loves being at home in LA.

The press had made such a big deal about the USMNT's lack of true homefield advantage so we made a banner for the game that said "SLC USA = home field advantage" We made it on the big screen at the half.

Don't just pat the Utahns on the back. Idaho was well represented in those stands. In one article in the Salt Lake tribune they interviewed 4 different people and 2 of those people were from two different towns outside of Boise. I came down for the games (from Boise) and the whole row of people behind me were from Boise as well, nice little coincidence. I noticed that one of the youth teams was a U-12 from Boise that walked out with the National teams.

Basically, props to Utah and their folks but I hope they realize that there is a good untapped market (less than a tank of gas) north of Salt Lake. We are starved for sporting entertainment during the summer up here too.

Yes. Welcome, Idahoans and any Nevada'ans (? spelling) who came and will come. Any way we can get more WCQ's here and be represented well to the rest of the nation and world - even if it means mixing with our neighbors - then we all can share in the coveted "Soccer Town, USA" title.

I'm pretty sure I have seen a few Idaho license plates from eastern Idaho every game. It reminds me a bit of the draw the Rockies used to get their first couple of years in Colorado.

Fortunately we don't play every day, so we should be able to keep attendance figures up.

I can get from North Las Vegas to Cottonwood Heights on one tank in my Camry. So far I've been able to make it for three matches. SLC is my hometown and Real is my team so a shorter trip to see Chivas play is simply does not interest me. I heard there is also another team in L.A., but that they lost to an expansion team 2-1. Ha ha! I'm Salt Lake 'til I die! Way to go us!
