USA vs. Panama [R]

I was wondering if today's qualifier was going to be televised. Here's what I found from USSoccer.com

PANAMA CITY, Panama (June 8, 2005) - Earning victories on the road in World Cup qualifying is no easy task, as the USA's long history will attest. However, the U.S. Men's National Team has won two of their last road World Cup qualifiers and will be looking for three more points tonight against Panama, a team which is undefeated in six home qualifying matches on the road to Germany 2006 (a 2-0-4 record). The teamsโ€™ last meeting in Panama City was a water-logged affair, and all weather forecasts suggest similar conditions for this contest. To hear a podcast of U.S. assistant coach Glenn "Mooch" Myernick breaking down the USA's game plan heading into tonight's match, click here. Kickoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. CT in Panama. Fans can follow the action live on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker, presented by Philips Electronics. Fans can also catch the game on taped delay at 11:30 p.m. ET on Telemundo and 1 a.m. ET on ESPN2. The U.S. is coming off a strong, 3-0 home win over Costa Rica on Saturday in Salt Lake City, a victory sparked by standout performances from midfielder Landon Donovan and goalkeeper Kasey Keller.

I looked at my comcast schedule and that looks right. 9:30 on Telemundo and 11:00 on ESPN2.

And for those of us not in attendance for the Catolica game, the Mexico vs. Trinidad and Tabago game is on Telemundo tonight too! Thank goodness for Telemundo. I actually started checking some Spanish books out from the library so that I can understand the broadcasts better. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have mixed feelings about this. I'd love to see T&T win for Rojas and Tiger, but the sooner they are eliminated, the fewer games we'll be missing those guys. So, I guess no matter what happens, it will be a good thing.

fifa.com's match reports say that Tiger, Dipsy & Rojas did not play on Saturday.

Mexico is hosting The Calypso Boys in Monterrey. Monterrey is (I'm too lazy to look it up) at about 1500 feet of altitude, not 7200 like Mexico City.

If Mexico clinches a spot before their trip to Columbus, the more likely they are to leave Rafa Marquez in Barcelona & their good players at home.

The US is rockin' Panama! I think this seals the US's bid for the 2006 World Cup, does it not?

They really clobbered them. Good job USA!

And Keller was amazing on that one sequence where he made 3 fantastic saves. I think DJ is great, but I have to admit to imagining him in a Real jersey making those saves.
