I have an option if we need, I have a friend that I got signed up to be a Loyalists who has a basement with a bigscreen. The basement can fit up to 20-30 people. He lives in West Valley. I left him a message telling him we are having a problem finding a place to watch the game. I work with his wife who told me about the size of their basement, I didn't know about it otherwise I would have suggested it earlier.

I'll update later once I have a chance to talk to him.

ok, I talked to my buddy at the Fort Union Pie. He said they are not allowed to take reservations, but if we are starting to get there about 4:30 (maybe sooner if we have a meeting) then we should have no problem at all getting us all in there, and he could herd anyone else that came to another area and save the area near the TV for us.

I told him about 20-30 people would be there and he sounded excited about it. So if we could get this figured out sometime tonight it would be great, I could let him know if we will be there or someplace else.

Well, it was really difficult, having to eat all of that really great pizza and all. I think I should get a lot of rep for working so hard for us. 😉

Well I suppose it is down to Iggy's, the Pie at Fort Union, or Aero's house! 😉
You forgot Fiddler's Elbow. I'm still on their list there. But if worse comes to worse, we can still go to my house. I'll just need to know if that is the plan by the end of the day so I can give my wife notice that a bunch of unruly soccer fans will be showing up. 🙂

What happened to the FO doing something? Has that been scrapped?
It seems that although the FO did plan an event, they couldn't bring it together in time, so they basically just gave up. Kinda weird, but thats what happened.

Since Deuce and Aero are the ones that are pushing this, lets let them make the call. However, I think Cup is giving a great alternate spot. Listen up!

Ok, should I send out the email announcement now? 🙂

Yes, still call Iggy's. I would much rather watch the game on one of their big screens than on some small tv in the corner somewhere else. Hopefully, they will be reasonable and let us do it.

Maybe you could also mention that we are looking for a place to watch all of the games as a group through the whole season and that if they treat us right tomorrow, they may become our official hang-out. Maybe the thought of having a large group coming in regularly to watch games during the summer when not much else is going on might sway their decision.

And the more I think about it, the more I think that it might actually be a good place to have watch parties in the future. Being in Sandy, it's a lot closer to our UC members than someplace downtown would be.

Didn't I read somewhere that some developmental players will be attending our watch party if we let Steve Pastorino know in time!

Was that just wishful thinking?

That's what Steve told me at practice when I talked to him. He said to let him know where we were going to be and he would do his best to get as many people, including developmental players, as he can there. Now, what that actually means, who knows. It could mean a lot of them, or it could mean zero of them.

I suppose the reason I brought that up was because that might be a selling point to ther GM at Iggy's!

Of course I will be NON-Comittal as far as developmental players attending

That might be a good selling point to Iggy's as well. Not only will we have 20 - 30 people all summer long, the list may include professional players. I don't know if they have a "memorabilia" wall or anything, but I'm sure we can try and get some signed items or pictures for them.
