Well, I just got back from practice. It was great actually seeing real, live people playing soccer and knowing that it is our team. It was a lot of fun watching them and seeing them for the first time.

They started practice by stretching and warming up. They then ran through some skill drills. But the rest of practice was spent scrimmaging. They first did a game where there weren't any goals and it looked to me like the object was to simply see how many passes you could make in a row without giving up possession. It looked like a lot of fun.

They then started a scrimmage. The team looked good. The sides seemed to be fairly even. During the scrimmage, Cameron Knowles took a hard shot to the stomach at point blank range off of a beautiful volley shot by Jason Kreis. I'm surprised he was able to get up as quickly as he did.

One other interesting thing that I noticed was that Cleatus wore a different color jersey than anyone else and seemed to be playing on both teams. He was always on offense with whatever team currently had the ball.

Overall, it was fun. And there were lots and lots of people there too. I was suprised at the number of kids that were there until I remembered that it was Spring Break. I was excited to see how many people were there and excited for the team.

I just got back too.

I actually stood outside in the rain and waited for the players to come out afterwards so I could get autographs, and in truly dorktacular fashion, I told Eddie Pope he was my favorite defender ever.

Oh, and I caught Dunseth eyeing my iPod because I left my bag by the door in a mad Eddie rush... :D

I got lots of autographs -- it was me and a bunch of little kids!

I saw Loyal1, Aero, Dysko & Not Pele... there but I didn't see you Clarette!
Were you the one in pony-tail, flip-flops and the faded pinkish-purplish top?
I had to leave my sports illustrated with Loyal1 cos I got called back to work!

Anyway it was great fun to watch them play and see all of the faces... well except Marlon Rojas and Dipsy Selolwane who were both away on duty for there respecticve National teams.

I was really pleased with the amount of ppl that showed. Lots of kids is a good sign for the team!

very encouraging!

Yep, that was me...

I had kind of figured out who the Loyalist peeps were but I felt really stupid going up and saying like, "Hi, are you Deuce?" or whatever so I just hung out by myself. :D

You should have come and said "hi." We would have all been glad to meet you. I'm now disappointed that you were there and we didn't get to meet. So, next time just come up and introduce yourself. :D

Well... funny thing, really... that is exactly why I didn't walk up to you and ask, "are you Clarette?"

What time is the practice on Thurs? If it is open, I'll try and make it for a little bit at least.

Twice in one week might be pushing it (my supervisor already thinks I'm nuts), but if I do go and I see you all there, I'll be more social. 😉
