I think two tickets to the Christmas concert would be great. He and his wife would really love the concert. (The Devotional (which I also have tickets for!) would be good, but not nearly as moving to somebody of a different religion. The music at those Christmas concerts will really knock your socks off.)

Something Olympic--that's a great idea. What we really need is some cash contributions so I can go buy some things and get the main part of the basket ready. $5-10 from half a dozen people, along with contributions like those mentioned above, will probably make this dream a reality. I won't even keep any handling charges! 😉

Some other ideas:

1. Some caffeine-free Mountain Dew (ha ha!)
2. Some pamphlets from the tourism store across from the Capitol
3. If there is any really generous (stupid?) soul out there, tickets to Saturday's BYU-UofU game.
4. A Book of Mormon (jokingly, with a note attached that says: "This is to start your collection. It will be the first of dozens given to you.") :p
5. Some cold-weather clothing (he's coming from Dallas... how cold does it get there??)
6. One of those locally made movies to introduce him to the culture. If only "Napoleon Dynamite" was available on video... sigh...

Someone has to do the Funeral Potatoes recipe.

That's seriously the one "Utah" food that I like...

Well, so far nobody else is willing to put money where their good intentions are, so... I'm not going to foot the whole bill myself (not to mention typing up information, running around, etc.) So unless I get a couple sponsors (besides myself) the recipes will have to wait, unfortunately!!

I can't do any running but I did mention that I would bring cash for you... (10.00 enough?) but I can't give it to you til tomorrow at the draft party.

I will be there and if you do something I will donate... if not then I will see you there anyway.

:D

Sorry, I somehow missed your post when I was reading through them! Strange! Okay, great... that's $20 in the pot so far. Maybe I'll draw up a list of what we want, need, etc. and figure out what it would cost. But if it's going to be from the Loyalists, other people have to contribute stuff too!

We could always have people contribute what they have and are familiar with. Tickets to the concert, something from Clarette (?), recipes recommended by people on the board, maybe a photo or two of Utah by Deuce?? (Beautiful work--I saw your website! Wow!), etc. Keep up the ideas and maybe by tonight we'll have something awesome put together!

Got an e-mail from Chris Keeney with "a little ditty" in it. Any of you see that and know what the tune is? I'd like to try it out, but don't know the tune.:D

Juliana, I would donate, but my accounts in the hole right now. 🙁

I saw that, too, but I wasn't sure on the tune. Hrmmm...

No stress, Jim! Nobody should feel obligated. It's just an idea. Do you remember at the meeting when Trey Fitz-Gerald told us it's our job to make the players "feel at home" once we had a team? That's what I'm trying to do! I vote myself the head of Public Relations for our group. 😉 ha ha

You got my vote, too.

Anyone else know what tune it is sung to?
