What will Wednesday's Announcement be?

At the Loyalist meeting on the 9th, Trey Fitz-Gerald said that we should have an announcement coming to us on Wednesday the 17th. What do you think the announcement will be about?

I'm guessing it's a player by the process of elimination. It's probably not a stadium thing because he said that stuff was still getting ironed out, it seemed like it wasn't even close to being done. Didn't he say specifically it wasn't an assistant coach? If he didn't, that could be it. I don't think it's something about Real Madrid either, because wasn't that alluded to in a whole other announcement, the one where it will happen if "the stars align?" So I'm going with a player, or I guess it could be the cold.

I'm thinking it's a player as well. Yes, he did say specifically that it wasn't an assistant. I also thought maybe it might have something to do with a Real Madrid game. They are doing some exhibition games in the states next year, aren't they? But then, I think he also stated that they would never play on turf. So now I'm back to a player.
After the last few months, if I only have to wait a week for a possible anouncement . . . well, great!

By the way, nice avatar Neil. Does it come in a large?

Real Madrid practices on field turf, just like Rice-Ecles has. Also just today UEFA made it official that European games can be played on turf. There will come a time when they won't have a choice, even though I don't think they'd care since their practice facility is on field turf. You can verify this somewhere on this site.

Nevertheless, I don't think that will be the announcement. I think it will be a player or a major sponsor.

Curious indeed....

Balltoon may be on the right track there with a major sponsor. Or maybe a media announcement i.e. such-and-such radio station will be the official home of RSL?

I'm kinda of thinking that whatever it is, the deal will have something to do with Real Madrid. I thought our source didn't postulate an answer to our question about RSL's relation to Real Madrid because he would, and I paraphrase, 'let Dave [Checketts] say something about that'. Does anybody else remember that line or am I just dreaming (good dreams, but dreams nonetheless)? I have no idea... but that's my guess, or my hope if you prefer to call it that. ha ha ha.
I guess on a more practical note the logical answer is a major sponsor or player. Those are kind of important to get a club off the ground right?

I'm with you. Trey mentioned this as well as the fact that Dave has been in Europe working on the relationship the team will have with Madrid. My impression was that he would be making an announcement about these European travels.

Lets say it is going to be our first player...
If 😉 it is a player... who will it be?
