We all know about 1950 and even a lot of people know about 1993.

But I am fairly certain that England administered our worst BeatDown of all times, 10-0 back in 1964.

Can anyone surf over to Dave Litterer's site & check that out?

That'll be a great match. Probably no word on whether or not it will be televised yet?

I've got the series as 2-0-5 (w-d-l). I threw it together, so anyone who says different please add your info.

You'd think we might have played them more often, but the again we haven't been much competition, overall. I've listed the USA score first and England second--purists can criticize, but it makes sense for this post:

1950, 1-0
1953, 3-6
1959, 1-8
1964, 0-10 (you were right)
1985, 0-5
1993, 2-0
1994, 0-2

Only the last game was played in England. Neutral site in 1950, of course, but the rest were in the States.

I read somewhere that Beckham won't be making the trip. That sucks in that I think Beckham is one of England's best players and also because all the casual soccer fans will want to go just to see Mr. Posh himself.

Nevertheless it is so good to get friendlies like this. First of all it is great competition (rather than another friendly vs. Barbados) and secondly everyone (soccer fans and casual sports fans) gets more excited about playing a team like England (rather than another friendly vs. Barbados).

That game will probably get more press than the WCQs.

Yeah Czar I heard Beckham and Owen will be absent because of Real Madrid commitments.... however it is not confirmed and I would be willing to bet that Becks will play in it just to try to expand the Beckham Empire!

I personally would go to see Michael Owen... if both are going to be there then I will be hard pressed to come up with an excuse not to go!
