Champions League with [R]ESULTS!

Results from Feb 22 matchday:

Bayern Munich 3 - 1 Arsenal

Liverpool 3 - 1 Bayer Leverkusen (Donovan played about 20 minutes)

PSV Eindhoven 1 - 0 Monaco (Beasley played about 35 minutes)

Real Madrid 1 - 0 Juventus

Juve still in good shape going back to delle alpi. They didn't get an away goal but at home they are definitely capable of beating Madrid by 2.

Thoughts?

The most anticipated match for me is Lyon - Bremen. I think I may be about the only one in the world who can say that. 🙂

Thoughts:

1) I love to see Arsenal lose. Wenger is such a sour-puss, I love it when he loses.

2) Tomorrow we got some doosies (ManU/Milan, Barca/Chelsea). It doesn't get any better than this.

3) I really enjoy following the matches on uefa.com. They have a very crisp, clean summary of the action, with photos, stats, commentary, even audio. Video is up soon after the matches.

4) Donovan and Beasley sure are getting an education over in Europe.

I'm really upset that I won't be able to watch that game (school). I'll have to tape it. Arelius I'm afraid I will be cheering for Milan! I always cheer for the Italian teams unless they are playing against Roma. Either way it should be a great game, two great teams!

Only surprise for me is Bayern beating up on Arsenal. Not a disappointment, but still a surprise.

Concur that Juve is in good shape, although an away goal would have been helpful. Connection to RSL or not, I'm in the Anyone-But-Real Madrid group.

Just wish we were getting Barca-Chelsea. But I can't complain too much about being force-fed ManU-Milan. Great matchup, and I'm off work to watch.

What a time to be a soccer fan!

I watched Bayern-Arsenal on the internet, and it was such a bizarre match.

Cygan actually played well, Kolo Toure made two massive screwups for Bayern's first two goals, and there was nothing doing in the attack despite having tons of possession through much of the first half and the first part of the second.

So, basically, it was a typical Arsenal CL match.

Pizarro did well to pick his spots and finish for the first two Bayern goals.
