I noticed that too, those west siders don't usually get into the game at all. My favorite part was how long after the final whistle we all stayed and just cheered our hearts out. This was a huge win for the team and the fans. If we could bring that more often I think the turf, altitude and fans would be unstoppable.

Wished that I could've been there. Hopefully the ticket I gave to Aero went to good use.

👍

It was a great game. I haven't been to many games this season. But I'm glad that I made that one!

Stupid wedding. :-D

I was shocked when I checked the scoreline Sunday morning. Watching the highlight reel was just awesome. Thanks to all of your post-game analysis so that we unlucky folks, who didn't see it, got a flavor of it!!

It did. Thank you very much.

Sorry you had to miss such a great game though.

It went to great use, Aerick, thanks! We had 4 Jr Loyalists cheering their hearts out for the team!! I wish the stadium would cheer the whole game the way we cheered the last ten minutes, it was SO AWESOME!!!!!

It's Monday morning, time for some match thoughts:

- I tried to come up with a MOTM but couldn't. That's a good thing. There were quite a few players who stepped up. I thought Garlick, Talley, Novak, Forko could've won it. Stewart, Klein, Ballouchy, Williams, and Cunningham all had good games as well.

- Minute for minute, the best player out there was Watson. Even though he didn't score, or earn a PK, the second he stepped on the field, the game changed. That's the mark of a good player. Of RSL's 8 shots on goal, 5 of them came with Watson on the pitch in the last 10 minutes. You could argue that our move to a 3-5-2 was responsible for that, the fact is he was getting the ball into the box and making things happen. Although we had a good second half, the ball wasn't constantly in a dangerous area until Watson came in.

- I'm hearing people say the last PK call was a gift. There's no doubt Wilson kept Klein's foot from moving forward, but I think Klein had played the ball out of reach before the foul. I think the PK had as much to do with 2 no-calls in the box in the previous 3 minutes (Watson getting dropped and Worthen getting pushed down on a ball that was going over his head). In fact, I looked at the ref when the Worthen foul happened - he put the whistle in his mouth and took a deep breath, then changed his mind. I suspect the Klein foul was the straw that broke the camel's back.

- That didn't look like 20,000 fans to me.

Tickets to this game were sold packaged with some of the Real Madrid ones. So there are probably a good number of people who had tickets last night because of the RM game that didn't show up... Kind of like a subtle non-double-header?

At the end of the game, it sure sounded like 20,000 fans though. That was amazing. Too bad we can't have that happening more often.

Yes it did. Very nice job by the supporter's groups this game. I could hear both groups very well on the west side (gasp....he sat on the west side!). Actually I was there with family (and my 2-week-old son) so we had to opt for the old folks section. But before you knock the west side too bad (as some have), they're slowly coming around. There's a group of about 5 guys with drums in row 1 of section W15.......they're not as into it as the Loyalists and RCB, but they gave Freddy and the ref all they could handle.
