where does all of this sudden optimism come from? I'm sure none of you have some sort of "inside" info so i am perplexed why you are all so sudden to think a deal is done.

Just because things have been quiet for awhile now doesn’t necessarily mean that nothing is going on.

A big drawback to the whole Sandy mess was that a lot of the details came out prematurely about where the public funds would come from, how they would be paid back, who favored or didn’t favor the plan, and this was all out in the open long before all the decisions were finalized giving opponents (including the press, politicians, and much of the general public) plenty of time to attack the plan and get it shot down.

With all the time, money, and other resouces spent on getting RSL a SSS, (as well as going through all the startup work and expenses getting the team going) I believe the team really wants to stay around and isn’t ready to quit yet. I still feel they are working hard at getting some sort of location for a stadium in the Salt Lake area (Provo might still be a remote possiblity of course), but are keeping things sort of on the quiet side. If there a local stadium forthcoming, it won’t be announced until all the details are finalized and approved.

I have a feeling too this will all have to be privately done. There is very little chance at this point the public (or the press) is going to change their mind at this point. We’ll either see a stadium built totally with private $$$$ (which is good if it can be done because they won’t alienate potential customers) or we may sadly see the team’s departure.

I don't know if a deal is done but my inside sources say:

"Don't trust the press."
"I spoke with DC (recently) and feel better than I have in some time."
"Wanna renew your season tickets?"
"RSL is not going anywhere."

Other than that, I think the whole staff is sworn to secrecy.

Of course all of the statements could be retracted or forgotten.

Once you hear, "Tell that boozehound Jose Luis Luviano to get his hip flask ready, he's headed for Happy Valley" then I'll have hope.
