How about they just let RSL stay there free? Then they won't increase their stadium revenues at all! In fact, we'd be draining them every time RSL steps on the field. It's a perfect solution!
Another side issue playing into this may be the player's health--the turf monster has probably already caused some of the team's injuries and I'd wager they want to get them on a grass field as soon as possible.

That's one solution. In Checketts' neck of the woods, they have all kinds of creative options to overcome this problem. Besides, like I mentioned before; our senator can rewrite drug laws on the fly. So IRS rules should not be a problem.

👍 For several reasons, RES is simply not a viable option.
As for what Dave Checketts should have done, keep in mind that they actually purchased land in Sandy. That tells me that the prospects must have been portrayed as much better than they actually turned out to be. In other words, Mr. Checketts was led to believe that it was pretty much of a done deal. In light of that, it is understandable that Mr. Checketts is getting a little disappointed and frustrated. He thought it was in the bag, and now he's starting at square one again. There are forces at work, that simply don't want RSL in town. That much is obvious. And it isn't just LHM. Every article I've seen on the subject of the stadium misreports it as RSL asking for the public to pay for the stadium. They steadfastly refuse to admit that it is in any way equivalent to the Jazz or Franklin Covey Field. I don't know if it is too late for a public information campaign, but that is what is sorely needed. We need to counter all the mis-information that has been put out there by our (supposedly) unbiased media. And that sounds like an uphill battle, but it may be the only way. I sincerely hope it all works out in the end, but I admit that I am getting a little frustrated myself. Maybe they'll move down to Utah Valley! I won't complain. But would they run into the same kind of opposition, here? Ah well, good luck, RSL!

Even if we do get a new stadium, this is bound to happen.

Come Aug. 12, we'll either have the announcement of a stadium deal or Dave will back-peddle and say he needs a little more time or he will say the team is being sold. My gut tells me that he really doesn't want to do the last of these options. My gut also tells me that it would be typically Checkettesque to wait til the last minute for a sweet announcement with lots of fanfare. __________________

You are talking about Dave Checketts keeping quiet like it's a bad thing?
