Garlick hasn't impressed me, time for Jay Nolly |

I'm not a fan of going with a new GK unless your 100% sure that the current starter isn't cutting it and 90% sure the new one can. Nothing like benching the old starter to destroy confidence. Sure, one can argue that it lights a fire. And that may happen but the risk is that you wreck the guys confidence. You dont want to end up having a vet keeper riding the pine who starts to question if he's good enough anymore to find out that your near-rookie GK is out there making young pup mistakes that are hurting the team more than the ol' vets.
I think Garlick's shown why Dallas was ready to trade him. I'm not sure if Nolly's shown why Ellinger should start him. And to be fair, maybe he can't really show that until he's put in there. I'm just not sure why a coach who's job is seriously on the line would want to take that kind of a risk. __________________

Great points and perspective... I am really frustrated with the lack of effort Garlick seems to show at times. The reason a coach may want to take that risk is if his job was really, really on the line. I don't think Ellinger is in risk of losing his job before seasons end, but after the season that could be a different story. Obviously Garlick isn't the only thing that we can do better. As a defender myself, I feel that you should always defend your keeper at all costs, but I also think that the keeper owes his back line 100% effort. I think Nolly would give that. I think that if results are going to be about the same (and that is what I believe would happen) you should let the guy that is giving 100% (read Nolly) have the playing time. __________________

Enough already......ENOUGH ALREADY......enough already.....ENOUGH ALREADY.....ENOUGH ALREEEEAAAADY!!!!!!!!
I started this thread back on May 7th. It is now two months later and still this old man is in goal and he is still screwing the living hell out our team. It's bad enough he usually just stands there and watches the ball go right past him but now he has taken it upon himself to just punt the ball to the top of the box and let opposing players crack it right past him. I especially like how after he watches the balls roll past him he kind of does this little fall down thing so it looks like he is making and effort but with today's slow motion cameras you can tell it is all an act. For the love of God let Jay Nolly play! Can you imagine if Garlick is in goal for the Real Madrid game? Real Madrid will chew him up and **** him out right on the field. They won't even wait until they are in the locker room to have a bowel movement. They will literally **** him out on the pitch.

Ellinger is an idiot. If I was on the team I think I'd phone it in as well. Please let us get rid of that no talent a** clown of a coach.

Tonight on Channel 5's Sports Beat during the "Kickin' it with Kirkland" segment he said Coach Ellinger had mentioned that he was seriously considering making Jay Nolly the starting goalkeeper.
Well it's about damned time. This is how I see it. Nolly will get the start against Virginia Beach Mariners this Tuesday to get his feet wet and then if he does well he will get the start against New England on Friday. I don't care if he does well or not but I never want to see Garlick again.
