If that is the case, you have no idea why they got rid of him...hint, it did not have much to do with his play on the pitch...

If you are still confused, check with Buzz from FC Dallas...he would be more than happy to let you know why Dallas and Chicago let him go before he came to RSL.

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with all of you. Garlick has done a good job, and has had little to no shot at stopping the goals that he has given up. Most of the goals he has given up have been times that he has had to guess one way or the other (aka breakaways). All a GK can do is guess one way and hope they are right. That is why you didn't see him move to make the stop Saturday, he guessed the other way, and when he saw it heading near post stopped moving to the far post.

I thought Garlick had a great outstretched save Saturday and is doing his job well. We just give up too many easy chances with lack of midfield pressure and poor presence on the back line (read giving the ball away).

I love Nolly and think he is the future GK for us. I even think giving him the nod might just do something positive for the team. I just don't think Garlick is to blame for our losses and poor play, that's all.

Leave it to the opposing coach to win. For all of you out there saying that Ellinger isn't losing games for us, here is Sigi Schmid winning one for the crew...

On Jason Garey's goal:
"It is a huge moment (for him). That is what he did in college, that is what he's here for and he had the one opportunity and he buried it. We talked about it before the game that sometimes (Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Scott) Garlick gives away the near post. Jason said when he got the ball and he looked up and it was open. He came to me after the goal and said, 'Coach you were right.'" --Sigi Schmid

I can see Ellinger: "Hey guys, this Busch kid sucks. I promise. Just put shots on frame and one has to go in, ok?"

Just when you thought it couldn't get any more depressing...

⚽ Geoff

I say let Jay play. Not that we need to string Garlick up, but I think we need to give Jay a chance. He plays with heart, and it's not like we have a great record that he could tarnish. Really, from where we are, it can only get better, right?

Sure it could get better... but that is not the only option... it could not make a difference at all and then we would have to face the reality that we no longer have the hope that Nolly will make it all better... One less hope to cling too!

So do we want results or do we want the kids to get experience?

I don't think we are going anywhere (read...playoffs) this year, so what is the point of playing players on the down side of their careers. Garlick has had one decent game (Red Bulls), and has let in some soft goals. Why not let Palmer and Schrek get a run out to see if either or both are going to be at least average MLS keepers.

Put In Nolly

Ok...yes I admit I am superstitious. And here is my logical reasoning why we should play Nolly this weekend. I am wearing my long sleeve nolly jersey today. My son came into my work after school and saw my back and said........OH 18 (Nolly's number), thats a good number for RSL....and looked at me and laughed. I said why?...he said cause you have lost 18 in a row. SOOOO we HAVE TO start Nolly this saturday!

So, it's decided! There's no choice. Anything else would be flying in the face of fortune! And heaven help us, if we should do that.

Good thing you have a son that's on the ball. Now if we can just get a few players to realize the urgency.
