With a record this bad, I am amazed that the attendance is as high as its been.

Are you seriously suggesting that MLS of 1998 and 2006 are the same or comparable?

Serious potential coaches that have recently applied/linked to other MLS vacant spots include:
Tom Soehn, Asst Coach, DC United
Brian Bliss, Asst Coach, KC Wizards
Glenn ''Mooch'' Myernick, Asst Coach USMNT

All three would be great, but here are some realistic potential coaches that haven't been linked (officially), but I think would be good:

Robin Fraser, retired 2 time MLS defender of the year
Paul Mariner, Asst Coach NE Revs

Any more?

Cobi Jones is on a team that is going to underachieve and Ante Razov is on a team that is going to go farther than most people think.

MLS Cup 98 was won by a team whose coach had a track record of success in the brief history of MLS up to that point and he had success before that (or as much success as anyone could have coaching an Ivy League team) in coaching players old enough to vote.

I'm sure there are but you've hit the key group. Of these, I'd favor Soehn or Mariner. Myernick had his shot with Colorado, and although he had his moments he just couldn't produce a consistent winner. Fraser has potential, but has no coaching experience at all that I know of. Of course, neither did Nowak and he still managed to win an MLS Cup.

Nice, very specific, get any assistant ... oo oo or a bloke who's old with OCD, or some bloke from erm ... oo oo erm ... that big continent ... erm Europe ... yeah, yeah, with all of those teams that are in the 1st and 2nd divisions sure we can get erm ... 'one of 'em'.

I think you're a natural strategic genius. Dave must be losing sleep knowing he lost such a 'loyal' 'fan'.
