New Loyalists Torcidos?

3 Brazilian guys hung out in the 2nd half in the Loyalist section. They said they saw us from their seats and they wanted to come over & be part of it.

They were a bit disappointed that more people did not join us in making noise.

But the Loyalists at least caught the attention of guys who usually hang out in the Maracana or the Morumbi.

They stood right behind me and I was glad to have them...until...they decided to go and harrass the new york guy. They were throwing coins and other objects at him and were the ones that got in the fight. I would love to have them around because they liked to sing and were enthusiastic but somebody has got to talk to them about the harrassing/fighting. I talked to them after and asked them not to fight...I wish I would have said something sooner.

Yep, we were short on people, plus the whole RCB contingency. Got to get more people in that section.

Good news is that more people may be joining the Loyalists. I just talked to a kid I know that went the game last night, and when he saw us he totally wanted to be in on it.

"If you build it, they will come..."

I saw him at the Loyalists booth just before kickoff, I thought. Maybe he stayed there the whole match recruiting.

Glenn was drumming all night long...for the ballet. Sometimes he has to take care of bidness.

Jules was home sick.

We need to get Jim Umber a big drum. He is skilled, but his little drum gets lost in the crowd noise.

Yes fighting is not good. However to be fair, those NY fans (specifically the one in the Madrid shirt) were really trying to rile people up the whole night. They were getting in peoples' faces and really looking for trouble the whole time. You just can't go to an opposing stadium and act that way. That doesn't mean the Brazilian dudes had the right to start throwing stuff at them, but there is more to the story than just an innocent NY fan cheering on his team.

Oh I agree with you the NY fans weren't angels. They were annoying and some of the time I wanted to go kick the real madrid guy's butt. I hope the brazilian guys come back. I liked their energy...but I guess I wanted to get the word out so that we can police ourselves and if they come back we, definitely including myself, can say something before they get into another fight.

Yes, I totally agree with you El Chalan. That's something we'll have to be more concerned with, especially with all the Chivas fans who show up.
